Chapter 9:- Why Do I keep Meeting Arrogant Guys?
Damilola stopped by the door for a while as a thought crossed her mind.
"I hope it works", she thought, then turned back and walked towards the director.
"Ma'am, what do you say about me working for you to pay the fees?"
The woman stared at her in silence for a while, and just when Damilola was losing hope, she said. "That would be cool, miss."
Damilola was amazed. She never could have believed her idea would be accepted by the woman so easily.
Here she was, a year after graduating planning to join the dance group supported by the school.
Today was the audition and she had little time for a rehearsal.
She ran as fast as she could until she reached a nearby bookshop to buy a novel for her boss.
This was part of the many errands and jobs she does for her boss.
On getting to the book shop. She went to the attendant who was sitting almost by the door, she walked up to her and asked for the book she wanted titled 'the luggage'. She heard a lot about the book and told her boss about it last week Monday and the woman agreed on buying it today.
Damilola asked the attendant if they had the book and she told her to check. She pointed to a part of the book shop for her to check for it or any book of her choice if they don't have the one she wants.
Damilola walked towards where that attendant pointed at and began to check.
Murmuring to herself. She just couldn't understand why her boss couldn't read this books online. The world has turned digital for Christ sake.
After searching for a while, she caught a glimpse of the book in the bookshelf opposite her, but it was way above her. She was too short to pick it up.
To pick the book, she stood at the tip of her toes. Due to the fact that she was a barley dancer, it was easy for her to stand at the tip of her toes. Still, she was too short to reach out to the book. She began to jump up, so as for her hands to grab the book but all to no avail.
About to give up, she felt a warm breath on the back of her neck, a strong arm on her hand also reaching out for the book, with an unexplainable closeness and warmth.
Someone had to be behind her. Who could that be?
Out of curiosity, she turned around to see the person, her palm on the broad chest of the person as she slowly brought her eyes up to look at the person, making her eyes come in contact with a beautiful pair of blue eyes, which also looked arrogantly at her.
Damilola was immersed in those beautiful eyes that she couldn't resist starring into it.
Not just his eyes caught her attention but his entire face.
He was so handsome. She had come across only one beauty who was more handsome than this person before her and that was Richard.
In Fact, she started to doubt if Richard was more handsome.
This guy before her was arrogantly cute, with a beautiful smile on his face while Richard on the other hand always wore a cold face.
Any girl would pick this guy over Richard.
"Just who was this guy?" She thought, taking in more of his beauty.
He was the complete opposite of Richard.
Uhmm. Why is she comparing everyone to Richard now?
This guy's smile. Why does it look so familiar?
