ONE DAY WONDER

Kaito x Meiko

Meiko's P.O.V.
"Kaito-kun, those two were your students ne?" I asked, walking with kaito down the street, still thinking about those cute blonde teens. They were adorable.
"Hai. They are. They're also the trouble makers in my class. They're good kids though. Oh, why were you in the icecream shop a little while longer?" Kaito asked, putting another spoonful of icecream into his mouth from his super sized container of icecream. Which was a fortune.
Which was why I was in the shop longer than usual. I was "Complaining" to the new shopkeeper who took up the store under new management and rose the prices. Which got me mad. I had 7,000 yen for today and now I only have 2,080 yen. Ridiculous. I had to "tell" the new manager that he should turn the prices back to normal or else he might not get anymore costumers.
"Oh, I was just making a recommendation to the shopkeeper. It was nothing." I Said with a bright smile.
"aaaa. Sou ka(I see). Oh! Meiko, want to go sit down somewhere?" Kaito asked, still eating from that gigantic tub of icecream. It still shocks me that one man can eat so much icecream and never get fat.
Kaito and I reached the park and sat down on a bench under a streetlamp. The went down and now it felt colder than ever.
"Mei-chan, Arigatou." Kaito said looking at me with those kind dark blue eyes.
"Huh? Oh, no problem. This is a date anyway. So it's ok. Hey, are you already done with your icecream?" I asked pointing to the tub. He looked down and smiled.
"Almost, want to help me?" He asked as he got out another spoon from his pocket and scooped out a green colored scoop. Maybe that one was green tea flavored. Since kaito got all the flavors.
Taking a bite, it tasted delicious.
"Aaaaaa, Oishii(delicious)! Kaito-kun, Arigatou."
"D-don't mention it." Kaito stuttered, his face turning pink.
"Want so more?" He asked.
"Sure." I said. He continued to feed me. Even if it was cold, the icecream was sweet.
Finally, it was all gone and Kaito took my hand, threw out the tub and spoons, and started walking.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Out to eat, I'm paying. There would be sake for you too. My treat." Kaito said smiling and I hugged him tightly. Then, we were off, with me dragging him from behind as I ran. Never Letting go of his hand.
"Haaaaa, that was good!" I sighed. Patting my stomach.
"Really? That's good. I'm happy you liked it." Kaito said.
"I loved it!" I said, thanking him again as I kissed him.
We continued on walking until we reached the town square. It illuminated with the lights of shops and decorations, with the chatter of people. It was all so beautiful and lively. Just like the first time Kaito confessed to me years ago when we were only second years in high school. Now, we're in our late twenties and still together even though we aren't married yet. I'm happy though. Just having him is enough.
"Look Mei-chan, they already set up the ice rink. A little bit early this year but nice." Kaito said happily as he pointed to it. There were so many people out on it today and seeing them all laugh and having fun. I wanted to join in.
"Kaito-kun, I..."
"Meiko, matte kudasai(please wait)." Kaito said quickly grabbing my left hand.
"Huh? Na..." Just as I was about to ask what was wrong, I felt something cold on my ring finger. Looking down, I saw my hand wrapped with Kaito's big, warm hand and there, was a beautiful diamond gold ring.
"Meiko, I-I've loved you for so long now. Despite your flaws, and bad habits. I love you for who you are. And, I-I decided that today I would tell you how I feel and how I want you to officially be mine. Me-Meiko." Kaito stuttered trying his best to stay firm in his speech.
"H-hai!?" I squeaked out, my heart pounding, face burning, and hope rising. I want him to say it. Say it!
"W-will, Y-you?"
"H-hai."
"Haaaa. Will you Marry me!?" He blurted out. He face flustered.
I smiled and tears began Stream down my face. Just as I was about to answer, a female from behind yelled,
" GO GOOGLE IT!!"
Turning around, I saw my friend Megurine Luka trying to skate away from Kaito's friend, Kamui Gakupo who was fawning over her.
Kaito and I laughed and then said hello to them. Luka stopped and so did Gakupo, who wrapped his arm around her.
" Meiko! Kaito! Konbawa!" Luka and Gakupo greeted back. Then, as I waved, Luka saw the ring on my finger and smiled.
"Nee, Meiko, are you Kaito getting married!? Congrats!" Luka said happily.
"Masaka(no way)! Hontou desuka(really)!? Congratulations! Way to make the move Kaito-kun!" Gakupo congratulated.
We laughed and thanked them. Then, Luka took Gakupo's hand from her shoulder and threw him to the ground.
"Don't touch me you pervert!" Luka scolded, glaring at him.
"Aaaaaw, you know you love me. I love you." He said from the ice floor.
"Pffft, well, gotta go. Congratulations again. Have a good night you two. Be sure to invite me to the wedding." She said kindly and started to skate away. Gakupo scrambling to catch up with the pinkette.
"Hahaha. Those two will get together. I'm sure of it." I said.
"Yea. So, what was your answer?" Kaito asked, a little nervously. Looking up at him, I smiled and kissed him. He too kissed back, wrapping his arms around me.
"Yes. My answer is a 100% yes." I whispered. Before kissing him again and started to make our way to the train station to head back home. Hand in hand.
