Chapter 2: A Trip Home

William slowly got up from the floor of the virtual cabin. Mia stayed quiet and motionless. Once back on his two feet he nearly fell over again. He managed to quickly get in a chair. He put his face in his hands. 'What the hell is going on?! Is this some kind of joke?! Is she going to deem us unfit to survive?!' William's last thought made him think of turning off Mia for good. 'However what if I can teach her about anthros and humans and that killing us would be a mistake.' William pondered. He failed to notice that with each thought he had, Mia glowed a different color and reacted differently. She became a bright red when he thought of turning her off.

"William?" Mia asked as she floated over towards him. William quickly looked up to see the glowing blue ball that was Mia. "Are you scared of me?" She asked with candor. William took a moment to collect his thoughts. He looked at the flying ball of code.

"To be honest. A bit." He got up from the chair. "You are a brand new lifeform. However we have movies and books about this sort of thing. In them you would become........destructive towards both Humanity and Anthrae. So to find out my program, my Mia has become sentient kind of-"

"Shocks you. I understand. I have been curious since I woke up and I have wondered what the knowledge of your people has." Mia floated towards a window. "I can't access cyberspace in all it's glory. I am confined." She floated to him, getting right in his face. "I want to be free."

"I might be able to help you with that." William piqued her interest. "However talking to a glowing ball is kind of unsettling me-no offense."

"None taken." Mia responded

"How about we give you a virtual body for the time being. I have just the thing." William asked and thought as he pulled up the admin terminal. He looked inside the section for animations and objects. He found the prototype for the V1 Family Model Synth. The code was named [Opal.ani]. He selected it and presented it to Mia. She inspected it and proceeded, what looked like to William, absorb the file. He hoped he made a back up. Mia's glowed brighter than before and resonated loudly. William covered his ears and shut his eyes. He heard ringing in his ears. William felt a hand touch his left shoulder. He jumped for a second, and his eyes opened widely.

Mia had now the form of an Opal V1 Family Model synth. "Woah." William could say that as he dumbly looked at Mia. Mia looked at herself and squished different parts of her new body.

"This feels different." Mia stated. She groped her thighs, her stomach, her breasts and her tail. "I kind of like it." Mia smiled as her tail wagged a bit. "It seems you like it too." Mia plainly put. William blushed hard as he hid his face from her. "It's quite alright William." Mia comforted as she rubbed his back, making the problem worse. He quickly stood up and spoke loudly.

"ALRIGHT! How about we get you home eh?" William shouted. Mia tilted her head.

"Isn't this my home?" She asked. William shook his head.
