Florence POV
It's been two months since I first hired Sam to work for me and it's been wonderful, but she doesn't share much about her past or her sister, I can understand where's she's coming from though there's probably a lot of bad history between them. I wanted to meet with Sam today to look over this month's schedule.

"Hey Sam, I wanted to look over the schedule for this month can you come in please?"
"Yeah of course"

I saw the tattoo again, I can't help but wonder what it's for.

"What are you looking at?"
"Your tattoo is cute that's all "
"You could say that"
"Why'd you get a music note ?"

I noticed Sam's whole mood change when I asked that. She went from smiling to stone cold in 30 seconds and to be honest, it scared me a little.

" It was for my little brother, he was really into music. "
"You have a brother?"
"Had."

I didn't know what she meant, then she spoke up

"He died. He was really young, he got in a car accident and didn't make it. No one survived it. We don't even know how it happened" she looked down at her hands

Sam paused and I was just sitting there with my eyes wide and waiting for her to continue

"Tracey went on and started her own business while I was still grieving. It was like she didn't care. So when I was old enough I got a tattoo so I could remember him when he was himself."

She finished talking with tears running down her face and her lip quivering

"If you don't mind me asking how old was he?"

I moved closer to her as I knew she would need a hug after this

"18"
"I'm so sorry"

She let out a sob and tried to leave but grabbed her arm and pulled her into me. I hugged her as tight as I could. I didn't care about the tears soaking my shirt, all that mattered at this time was comforting Sam and making sure she was ok. Her head was buried in my neck as she continued crying. I guided her to the couch in my office. I still held her tight in my arms rubbing a hand up and down her back. I look over and see the door open and my favourite ginger walking in

"Hey, guys! Got the sched-"

I waved my hand and shook my head to get her out.

After 15 minutes of holding Sam, she stopped crying and her breath evened out. I looked down and noticed she fell asleep in my arms. It was the most adorable thing I've seen. Slowly getting up I put a pillow under sam's head and got her a blanket. I went back to my desk and got back to work. I watched her sleep now and then to make sure she was doing ok.

She didn't deserve this. Her sister is disgusting and should never have the right to see Sam again.

I walked out of my office to go see what Macey needed

"Hey, Mace, what'd you need when you came to my office?"
"Oh I was just wondering if I could see Sam for a moment, is she free?"
"She's sleeping right now, I'll send her in later ok?"
"Oh yeah of course! Is she ok?"

I didn't want to tell Macey. It wasn't my thing to share with anyone.

"Yeah just tired that's all"

I smiled at her and left the room, before going to my office I went to get some water for Sam when she woke up.

Sam woke up about an hour later. Her eyes were red, I felt so bad for her. I got up from my desk and went to her side

"Hey, how are you doing?"
"I'm ok, my heads hurting a bit"

I passed her the water and got some medicine from my bag

"Here, this will help. I wanted to let you know that you can go home, have the rest of the day off"
"No no, it's fine. I want to work"

She smiled lightly at me

"Are you sure? Cause I can pay you for the whole day, and I can hitch a ride from Macey I'm sure she won't mind"
"Florence, I'm fine I promise. So just tell me whenever you're ready to leave and i'll pull the car around"

She had her hand on my knee with her thumb rubbing it. It was very soothing.

"Ok, ok ill be ready in an hour. Sound good?"
"Yeah, ill go get the car and park it in front"

She smiled then left closing the door behind her. I watched her walk down the hallway and saw her stop and talk to Macey for a bit. She had a big smile on her face, it was nice to see her smiling

"She's a keeper"

Macey came in breaking me out of my thoughts

"Yes she is"
"I'm heading out now, need anything before I go?"
"Nope, I'm good. See you tomorrow?"
"I've got a meeting with some people in Australia so I'll be gone for a while."

That came to me as a surprise, usually, she doesn't do the travelling. Then again no one is free for this meeting so she has to go

"It'll just be you and Sam here"

Macey smirked at me then left my office, a few minutes later Sam walked in with her sunglasses over her eyes and a hat on

"Cars out front but there are pops there. Not many, but I still suggest covering your face if you don't want to be seen"
"No it's ok, I like to give them something to get out there sometimes"

I smiled at her, Sam walked over to me and put the hat she just had, on my head

"Just wear the hat just in case ok?"
"Ok fine"
"Let's go shall we?"
"We shall"

We both started laughing at ourselves. We made it down to the lobby went I noticed the cameras going off as soon as they saw us. Going to have to get tinted windows.

"Ready?"
"Of course"

And with that, we stepped out of the building and made our way to the car. Sam made sure no one touched me or tried to ask me anything.

Time skip

We made it to my house and this time Sam walked me to the door.

"I'll see you tomorrow Ms.Pugh"
"Sam-"

It was too late she ran back to the car laughing to herself. The topic for tomorrow: addressing this name situation
