Dean’s POV
At the beginning of class, Lisa confronted me about me cheating on her with Benny. God, when is the bitch gonna catch on? I’m not with Benny! I’m never going to be with Benny! Not now, not in the future, and I sure as hell wasn’t with him in the past!
“Lisa!” I exclaimed, throwing my hands up in the air. “When are you going to catch on?! I’m not with Benny. I’ve never been with Benny. And I’m not going to be with Benny. Why don’t you just drop it already?”
Lisa glared at me some more. “Then why aren’t you getting back together with me?” she asked with snark. “If you’re not going to be with Benny, then be with me, baby. Why’d you even dump me? We were perfect together! Everybody loved us as a couple!”
I groaned and ran my hands through my hair in frustration. “Lisa!” I said loudly. “I don’t want to get back together with you! We only got together for benefits! You know that! It’s why we got together in the first place! Then I actually liked you and we actually started dating, but then you turned into a huge-ass bitch and now I don’t want anything to do with you. And spreading those rumors about us getting back together? Not cool. What even compelled you to do that? Demon possession?” I rubbed my eyes then glared at her. “I don’t want anything to do with you, Lisa. Nothing. At. All.” I turned away from her and walked to my seat in the back of the room, sitting down and crossing my arms. I heard Lisa scoff and walk to her seat, her high heels clicking on the floor.
The room was silent after that. Nobody spoke, everybody just...stared at me and Lisa. Then Crowley and Alastair sat in the seats in front of me and beside me, staring, like everybody else.
“Well, good job putting the bitch in her place,” Alastair said.
I grinned at them, high-fiving their hands when they put them in the air. “I know, right?” I smirked, leaning back in my chair. We chatted about the upcoming science project when Mr. Novak walked into the room.
I smirked again as everyone stopped talking.
“Good afternoon, class,” Mr. Novak greeted, smiling.
A few grumbles were emitted, but, other than that, Mr. Novak received no greeting in return. After that, he started roll. I tuned him out until I heard him say my name, “Mr. Winchester?” He looked straight at me and I smirked.
“Here,” I called.
He nodded and continued as if nothing happened between us. But something did just happen! Did he not get that I was eye-fucking him? I mean, that was so obvious! I know he’s slow in pop culture, but he can’t be this slow. He obviously has to know when someone’s trying to undress them with their mind!
I crossed my arms and tried to act like I didn’t just think all that, and trying to act like I wasn’t about to pout.
Anyway, throughout class, I kept throwing paper balls at students and at Mr. Novak. At one point, I rubberbanded a paper football at Lisa’s head.
“Ow!” Lisa screamed holding the back of her neck where my sharp paper football hit her. She turned around in her seat and glared at me. “Winchester, did you throw a paper football at me?!”
Mr. Novak looked up from his desk and at Lisa then at me. I was trying to act innocent, but it was hard because I was laughing. And so were Crowley and Alastair. “Mr. Winchester,” Mr. Novak said coldly, “did you throw a paper football and Ms. Breadon?”
“Nope,” I said, popping the ‘p’, “I rubberbanded her with a paper football!”
Mr. Novak ‘glared’ at me. “Detention, Mr. Winchester,” he hissed, “two weeks, three hours, my classroom.”
I tried to will my smile to disappear. I guess I achieved since Crowley and Alastair were giving me worried looks. “Two weeks?!” I exclaimed. “That’s not fair!”
“You should have thought of that,” Mr. Novak said, “before you hit Ms. Breadon with a paper football.”
I glared at Mr. Novak as he looked down at his papers again and leaned back in my seat, crossing my arms.
In my mind, I was doing a happy dance. Two weeks alone with Mr. Novak for three hours? I can do anything I want with him!
For the rest of class, I kept my eye on the clock. I really want school to end so I can be with Mr. Novak. Alone.
Five more seconds.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
Briiiiiiinnnngggg!
The bell rang and everyone was jumping out of their seats and running for the door, while I continued to sit in my seat and wait. Crowley and Alastair waved at me before they exited the room. Then, the room was silent as it was only Mr. Novak and I. It was still silent between us until that’s all you heard from the room, the hallway, the school. Everyone was gone.
Except the two of us.
And that’s exactly what I wanted.
