❝Stay with me.❞
THE NUMBERS ENGRAVED ON THE SKIN OF YOUR WRIST determines the amount of time that your soulmate has in the world, even the seconds, minutes, and years were all written in it using a bright dim tint and bold numbers that only you and you could take a sight of, not even your soulmate or anyone you're affiliated with, just you as the bearer alone.
When does it even appear? It appears once in a while after you get to touch your soulmate which is the fate's duty to make it come forth.
In the world where you're in, fate controls everything. To conquer fate is to conquer odds and less percent of the whole have succeeded in doing so. Not everyone is capable or strong enough, of course.
Majority of people are good with that kind of set-up since they can atleast identify the amount of time their soulmate had but some are moved into the misery's depths upon seeing that the ink had written nothing but zeros, meaning that their soulmate has either departed to the paradise that nobody even once knew nor see themselves.
But in this story, you strangely don't have any numbers carved in your wrist nor anything that you could use as a symbol that your soulmate is near you, talking to you, already touched you or just anything that could make you assured that you already met him but bluntly, you feel odd because your doctor, Rin Itoshi, keeps on saying stuffs like you are his soulmate. You and you only.
It's peculiar to foretell, it had you thinking that you'll die alone because why were you even deprived from the carves of your soulmate's time if world isn't hostile to you, right?
"Listen to me, y/n." Rin irked your seat forward to his, that stupid enigmatic expression he has is still there. His hair's disarrayed, eyebags' evident below his eyes and he looks a real wreck even though his eyes and expression both looked solemn, "I'm your soulmate even if you don't have any numbers written on your wrist. Just remember that and put that in your mind. There is no need for you not to trust my words."
And there he is again, it's tickling your innards to be honest hearing that countless assurances from him but it's nonetheless kinda nice as a doctor for him to say that to you as his patient now or was it? It's fucking not. It was like he's only doing those as assurance for you not to get worked up about the fact that you might die without meeting your supposedly other half.
"Who even are you for me to trust? You're just my doctor, I paid you." You scoffed, crossing your arms, unpleased by the gesture of his even though you know yourself that this was never your character to say or do so. You were just annoyed by the countless calls of him telling you that you're his soulmate even though nobody can prove such, that's it.
"Whether you trust me or not is up to you. Lying is not my forte." Rin reputed instead, still with no emotions plastered in his face but betting all for the heavens, we all know that a person's eyes will never lie.
His eyes are hopeful, hopeful for you to believe him.
Or is that really the case? This overly arrogant and aloof Rin Itoshi? The only one who literally let you walked around the hospital for hours finding for his ass? Your soulmate? You'd rather die than accept that kind of fate if you were given the choice but again, fate has diverse and eccentric plans.
But if you really accepted him as your soulmate, what odds will it bring then? What odds will you conquer knowing that you have an illness that's incurable for many?
