elle ran as fast as she could to the starbucks on third and market. there was no way she was letting one of the only stable things in her life disappeared. everything was a wreck. her love life, her job, the house. it was all too much and the only thing she needed was someone who wanted to talk to her.
panting, she burst through the doors of the crowded starbucks. faces turned and bodies walked, but she didn't know which one was calum.
she looked for a boy without a phone, but there were many.
elle was about to leave when suddenly she heard, "black coffee for calum!" and snapped around to see who retrieved it.
he was the most beautiful creature she'd ever seen. tanned skin, loose sweater, and messy black hair. she found herself staring at him. when calum turned around, they locked eyes and he knew immediately. he walked towards her. "we need to talk." he said quietly, walking outside.
elle followed and they sat at a table sitting in the shade.
"give me your phone." he said, staring down at his hands, and soon looked up to meet her eyes.
elle slid the phone over. "why?" she asked.
he opened her contacts, then deleted 'calum.'
"i'll miss you, elle." he said, setting her phone down, then walked away, leaving his coffee and elle behind.
