Isaac's heart continued to hammer inside of his chest as he slowly approached Roxy. Her cornflower blues continuously darted between the three men, her eyebrows furrowed with confusion and her body taught with fear. The wolf inside of her was uneasy, Isaac's own wolf trying to reach out and calm her. He couldn't believe this was happening. When Tobias had notified him of Prince Stefan's return he hadn't expected him to pay his daughters a visit. At least, not this soon.
Fate had never been kind to him.
'Roxy, just calm down.' Isaac's knew his words sounded stupid, but his soulmate's body was beginning to tremble and her irises glow with the wolf rising to the surface.
'Calm down? Calm down?' Her voice was high, screeching with panic. 'I just walked in on you throwing my father against his car! My father I haven't seen in...' her arms waved about. 'Thirteen years! How am I supposed to calm down, Isaac?'
Hearing the commotion outside, Cleo and Trent rushed out onto the front patio with Cree in his mother's arms. Isaac closed his eyes and tensed his jaw, sensing that this was quickly going to become even more dramatic. Cleo's face visibly paled when she recognised the man still standing with his hands up in surrender. Isaac caught Trent's gaze, one that matched his own of anxious worry. He hadn't told Cleo about her family bloodline either.
'How about we all go inside and talk about this?' Isaac's eyes darted between the two sisters.
'Why don't you sound surprised?' Roxy's eyes were ablaze as they narrowed in on him, the blue having a vibrancy he'd never seen from her before.
Isaac swallowed, the saliva in his mouth now thick. 'Like I said, I think we need to go inside and talk about this. We don't want to cause a scene in front of the Omegas.'
'Fine,' spoke Roxy through gritted teeth, her gaze shifting between her soulmate and estranged father. Cleo still looked white as a ghost, juggling Cree on her hip who was becoming unsettled by the tension clouding the atmosphere. Roxy's eyes shifted back to Isaac, the anger in them making his usually unafraid wolf tremble. 'Let's talk.'
The atmosphere could be cut with a knife as Isaac, Stefan, Roxy, Cleo and Trent sat around the dining table. Tobias and Kayla had left the family affair to take a drive with Cree. Tensions were running high and the last thing anyone wanted was for a defenceless baby to be in the way of angry wolves. Stefan looked like he was going to pass out, shifting uncomfortably on the wooden chair across from Roxy and Cleo. Whilst Roxy wore an expression of anger with her arms folded tightly across her chest, Cleo's face was softened with curiosity.
It was unsettling to see Roxy so wildly angry. Usually she was the calmness in his storms. But the man sitting across from her had been the man she should've been able to depend on. Her father. But he hadn't been. Leaving without an explanation, disappearing without a trace on his family. Whilst Isaac knew the pain of losing his parents, he believed Roxy and Cleo's situation to be harder. Himself and Kayla had closure. As awful as it'd been to accept, they knew what had happened to their parents, what had led to their untimely death. The two sisters in front of him had been left with unanswered questions, constantly wondering why their father had left. Why their mother had left. Why they hadn't been good enough for them to stick around.
