In the first few books Annabeth use her invisibility hat a LOT.
Especially in the first few chapters, we just assume the she's had it forever
BUT in the first book she said it was a 12th birthday gift
WHICH means that she's had it for less the a year and already mastered spying, competing, and fighting in it
SHE WAS 12!!!!!!!!!!!!
