Is It True?!

A week had went by and Ben was driving long hours just to come back and forth to see Nyla in the hospital. When he found Nyla he was only in Seattle because he was checking out different hospitals.

After doing more research he settled on moving to Seattle since it had the best residency program for surgeons and he was determined to get placed at Seattle Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital once he was done with medical school. He wanted to study that hospital inside and out. So he came back once again especially once he found out that Miranda was one of the surgeons there.

He went to go check on Nyla first when he first arrived. "Hi I'm looking for Nyla Lewis I'm Benjamin Warren, she wasn't in her room when I just went in there", Ben said going up to the nurse's station.

"Oh sorry no one told you. She's was discharged already."

"TO WHO? WHEN?", he yelled.

"Calm down sir and to DFCS last night. She was all set to go and everything had been cleared with her new foster home."

"How? Who allowed that? Don't they listen to the kids. I'm pretty sure she didn't want to go and threw a fit."

"Actually she didn't, she didn't even say anything, but she did draw this picture and said to give it to you."

Ben turned the paper over and it was a picture of Nyla, Ben and Miranda playing in the snow. He folded it up and left running out of the hospital. "WAIT!", the nurse ran after him.

"Look I don't know the full story between you and this little girl, but what I do know is that she loves and cares for you deeply. Whatever the situation is with her real father doesn't matter because to her you are her father and we both can see that. So here", she handed him a number written on a sheet of paper. "My sister works in the system, call her and tell her I referred you. My name is Mya. She'll help you get set up to becoming a foster parent."

"A foster parent?"

"Yeah, become Nyla's foster parent then adopt her. It's an easy way to go through the system and get her back without having to struggle to fight for her and lose because she's not yours. If her father has lost all rights it gives you a better chance of getting her back and keeping her."

"But what if he haven't and Miranda had legal paperwork on her and he still managed to take her from us.....I mean her. What's to say he can't do it again?"

"Trust my sister she's good, don't worry just fight for her!"

"Thank you", Ben said walking off.

"Ben?"

"Yes", he said turning around stopping.

"I saw the interview. Find and fight for her too!"

Ben nonchalantly nodded his head and headed to his car, he got in and stared at the number for a while before finally calling. "Hello you've reached Melissa Wilson's voicemail. I'm not able to take this call at the moment, but please leave your name, number and a brief message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible....beep."

He hung up without leaving a message, he didn't know what to say. Ben was startled when his phone immediately started to vibrate.

"Hello?"

"Hi yes did someone just call Melissa?", she said nicely.

"Ummm...yeah. Your sister gave me your number and....."

"JESUS MYA! When I'm ready to find a man and go on dates I will", she said out loud to herself. "I'm sorry about whatever my sister told you, but I'm not available to date", she said annoyed.
