10 years later
I watch the snowflakes fall as I sit inside, alone. Frodo's out with his friends; Samwise, Meriadoc, and Peregrin. He's a young hobbit and needs to get out and have a bit of fun. Snow covers the blue leaves of the now human sized tree, a bit taller than Thorin was twenty years ago now. I slip the ring on and I feel myself become invisible, how nice it was for people not to pester you or know you're there. That was my idea of luxury but I take it off anyway because no-one is out at this time of night in the freezing cold.
Slowly my eyelids close shut as I do so I see the same thing as I had been seeing for the past hour and a half apart from instead of the lonely bird prints and oak there were people. There was no oak but the actual Thorin making a snowman with a small child with long hair and big, hairy feet. I see myself wearing my green apron "Thorin! Arnold! The apple pie is ready!." They drop the snow and 'Arnold' rushes past me. Thorin walks calmly and we enter a long passionate kiss. "Eww! Mushy!" Arnold says wincing at us.
The dream skips to halfway through the apple pie. "Daddies. Why are you the only boys living together in the whole Shire?"
Me and Thorin stared at each other for a few seconds "Because...We are the only ones that don't find girls... Pretty."
"Oh... Which one of you is going to tuck me in tonight?"
With that the dream was abruptly ended by the return of Frodo. "Bilbo..... BILBO"
"Wha.. What?!"
"I just wanted you to know I was back."
"Oh.. Oh yes! How was it?"
"Great thanks, but Pippin stuck his hand down the barmaid's dress again."
"Not again! Fool of a took! Well goodnight, Frodo."
"Goodnight, Bilbo."
I sit forlornly wishing that I could have stayed in that dream forever! I miss Thorin. I miss him so much.
