A few days later

Frodo's parent's funeral had just finished and I walked back home with Frodo, still crying and claiming he could've saved them. I tapped Thorin's tree on the trunk as we walked into the door again. The oak was now quite sturdy now and seemed to be growing faster than normal.

"Am I going to live with you, uncle Bilbo? A now calmer Frodo asked from the chair next to the fire place. "Yes Frodo, I will adopt you." I was so happy to have a son now even though I deeply regretted their death. It was if my prayers had been answered by someone, my wishes fufilled. But where was the long haired dwarf that would read him bedtime stories? Where was the king that would fly a kite with him?

Where was my Thorin? I joined Frodo by the fire and we talked about normal things; handkerchiefs and chipped plates this seemed to distract him.

Thorin had had a bit of guilt taken off his shoulders at least he had made Bilbo happy. Wasn't  that why he was in this tree in the first place. To look after Bilbo.
