3 years later 25th of August

Thorin's oak was a young tree but looked much older, it looked majestic much like Thorin. But there was something very peculiar about the tree: It's leaves were the exact shade of silvery blue as Thorin's coat.

"Uncle Bilbo," Frodo walked up to me sitting in a chair next to Thorin's oak "this tree is an oak but oaks don't have blue leaves. Why does your oak tree have blue leaves?"

"That's the magic of it, young Frodo, not even I know why my oak tree has leaves of such a strange colour but I do know that your parents are expecting you back in five minutes. So hurry up!" I say in a joking manner and tickled Frodo "Now go!"

I sighed as Frodo ran off into the distance. If I had been with Thorin we could've adopted a boy, I have always wanted a boy to call my own. Or to see Thorin's child grown up to be king or queen under the mountain would still have been a blessing. I stroke the oak's trunk and check that the ring is still in my pocket. My fingers encircle the now warm gold and go to fetch myself a cup of tea and a buttered crumpet.

"It will happen, Bilbo. The time will come." Thorin's face appeared in the trunk and smiled contentedly
