"You can't just leave her in there!" She screamed as I stood, watching the flames rise. I didn't respond but slowly turned around. I looked her dead in the eyes, I could see the fear. I could almost sympathize with her.
"Please! Don't just leave her!" She screamed again.
"You're lucky I even pulled you out of there but I can easily throw you right back in there with her. Is that what you want?" I asked, not breaking eye contact.
I could see her eyes start to water up, I could almost make out every last emotion that was racing through her body. I did not feel bad. I did not feel bad at all. My masked men were holding her. She kept pleading for them to let her go, they would not do that without my command. Her words were almost pointless but they brought me joy, being able to hear her suffer. It was almost like being a kid again on christmas morning.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!" She pleaded.
I slowly started to turn around, I looked at her dead in the eyes. She looked so weak. The tears were streaming down her face, it had reminded me of a river. I turned around and looked back at the house. I saw the little girl through the attic window. I could make out an expression of fear. I could almost see the tears rolling down her cheeks but I did not feel bad. I felt happy. I knew they deserved this. I was so proud of myself but does this make me the bad one now? No. It couldn't. They were the ones who started it. No legal punishments will ever avenge the death of my family. This is the only way that feels right.
"Please I didn't have a choice! I really didn't! Please I never wanted to hurt you or your family! If i didn't do it I would've lost everything!!" She explained.
I started to walk closer to her, I bent down and put my hand under her jaw, "Yes you did. There was a choice. There was always a choice. I don't want to hear any excuses. You are going to sit here and I am going to put you through the same pain you put me through. The legal system might not be able to give my family justice but I will."
I stood back up straight and turned back around to watch the house burn. The little girl was no longer there and the house started to vanish into ashes. We stood there until the house was completely gone. I walked over trying to see if I could find any remains of the girl. I found the body turned over under a burnt couch. I picked up her remains and brought them outside. I walked over to the girl's mother then proceeded to hand her the remains. She started bawling and fell to the floor. I had my men pick her up again.
I started to hear sirens in the distance, I started to panic. I didn't know what to do. I told my men to tie her up and keep her quiet. I told them to go hide with her. I ran back over to the burnt corpse and bent over. I started to weep over the course. The sirens started to get louder, I tried as hard as I could to seem upset. The fire department and police started to surround me and the burnt remains of the house. The police started to run over towards me to see what had happened. As quickly as I could I came up with the most believable story I could.
"I was babysitting and I started to doze off, I woke up to the smell of burning and I frantically ran as fast as I could to try and collect the child but it was too late. I ran out as fast as I could." I explained with tears rolling down my face.
They explained that they would need to call the house owner and explain to them what had happened. They tried to call her 4 times. Everytime it jumps to voicemail. Soon after this they had left. I called my men back out with the lady, I told them we needed to get rid of her as fast as we could. We decided to drive to the nearest revine and throw her off the side.
