The Ruined Dinner Date

HM was checking herself in the mirror before leaving for Thana when Anubhav asked..

AS: Aaj shaam ko aap free hain?

HM: Haan! Matlab Thane se sidha ghar hi aayenge..koi aur kaam nahi hain?

AS: Toh...(hesitating)aaj dinner bahar kare?

HM looked at him with gleaming eyes..

HM: Matlab aap hume dinner date par lekar jaana chahte hain?(she asked teasingly.)

AS: Aisa kuch nahi hain..bohot zyada sochti hain aap..(he fumbled.)

HM: arey wah!saari taiyaari karne baad humse pucha jaa raha hain..thik hain hum chalenge ab apne shohar k paise thodi na barbad hone denge..(she giggled)
Thik hain..hum nikalte hain warna late ho jayega..

AS: thik hain....sidha resturant mein milte hain(She nodded and left)..hum apko address sms karde he(he shouted)

HM: Thik Hain..(she replied in same tone.)

At around 8 Haseena reached the restaurant where Anubhav had arranged dinner for them..She waited for few minutes but he wasn't there..It was a garden restaurant..It was empty as Anubhav had booked the whole place..she called Anubhav.

HM: Anubhavji hum pounch gaye hain yaha..aap abhi tak aaye nahi?

HM was strolling in the garden while having a cup of tea when Arsal who was passing by noticed her walking alone and went to her..

AA: Nahi..tu pii..par aise apni patni ko kon intezar karwata hain!Teri koi fiqr hain ya nahi..

HM: Arey kya tum ek hi baat pe atak gaye..aajayenge woh...aur unhe humari bohot fiqr hain...

AA: Aur kitna jhoot bolegi tu Haseena!Tu khush nahi hain iss shaadi se phir bhi sabke samne khush hone ka dikhawa kyun kar rahi hain?

HM: Kya bakwaas kiye jaa rahe ho?!

AA: Dekh Haseena sab jante hain tum jono ki shaadi kis halat mein hui thi...tu chhod de Anubhav ko...apni zindagi ko iss tarah barbaad mat kar.

HM: Dekho Arsal Hume iss bare mein tumse koi baat nahi karni..please jao yahase(she said trying her best to control her anger.)

"Haseena".Arseena looked at the entrance where Anubhav was standing holding a bouquet of Roses.His facial expressions stated that he has heard everything..

AS: Kya yeh sach hain Haseena ki tum iss shaadi se khush nahi ho?Tum hume chhodkar jaana chahti ho?(his voice choking)

AA: Haan chhodna chahti hain Haseena aapko..jabse aapse mili hain ek k baad ek musibat mein padhti jaa rahi hain Haseena....humesha dukhi raheti hain..akele mein roti hain..sirf aur sirf aapki wajah se..

HM: Arsal pagal ho gaye ho kya?tumne hume rote hue kab dekha?

AA: kyun kal jab maine tujhe phone kiya toh tu ro nahi rahi thi.

HM: Humne tumse tab bhi kaha aur ab bhi kahe rahe hain humare gale mein uss waqt kharash tha..

AA: Manliya.Par jo yeh thane mein tujh par gussa rahe the woh toh jhoot nahi tha na?

HM: haa gussa kar rahe the kyun ki unhe humari fiqr hain..subha se tabiyat kharab thi humari...

AA: Jhoot..kyun tu Teri  married life k bare mein sawal puchte hi baat ghuma deti hain bol..

HM: kyun hum apni personal life kisise discuss karna munasib nahi samajhte..(she said sternly.)

All this time Anubhav was standing like a statue..He had no power to fight with Arsal..he thought that Haseena is indeed not happy with this alliance as even while arguing with Arsal she didn't mention that she's happy with him.

HM noticed him standing emotionlessly..she ran to him and said...

HM: Anubahvji aap Arsal ki baaton par dhyan mat dijiye please..(he didn't move an inch) kuch toh boliye Anubhavji..chaliye hum log dinner karte hain..Anubhavji!

AS: Hum ghar jaa rahe hain...aap chalengi?

AA: Nahi jayegi Haseena aapke saath..(he held HM's wrist tightly)

AS didn't spoke further he went to his car ignoring HM's plea to stop as if he's deaf.

HM pushed Arsal as hard as she could that he stumbled 4-5 steps back..

HM: Kyun Kiya tumne aisa Arsal Ali...kyun?(she shouted.Endless tears flowing through her eyes.)

AA: Haseena maine tere bhale k liye kiya(he tried to reason)

HM: kya bhala Kiya haan!Humare pati se hume alag karke kya bhala Kiya..
I'm a literate matured woman Arsal Ali...I know very well ki humare liye kya sahi hain aur kya galat...

AA: Haseena main best friend hun tumhara bhala hi chahta hun..(he was in tears.)

HM: Best friend hain iska matlab yeh nahi ki aap humari personal life mein dakhal denge..woh haq humne apko nahi diya hain...(her whole body was trembling with fury.She somehow controlled her rage and immediately went to board an auto to get back home to Anubhav.)

Here,Arsal fell on his knees and was crying.He was hurt by her words and has even realised his mistake.She was correct she was a strong and independent lady she definitely won't stay in an unhappy marriage just for society's sake.He so much wanted her in his life that he crossed the line and now he lost his best friend too.

Laila who was hiding there and watched the drama unfold came out of her hiding spot and went to Arsal.

Laila: Maine dekha abhi kya hua...Bhabhi ne aapko galat samajh liya..aap baad mein ek aur baar unhe samjhane ki koshish karna..

AA: Nahi Lailaji hum log galat samajh rahe the..Haseena dusro se alag hain..woh galat sahene walon mein se nahi hain..woh sach mein Anubhav ko chahti hain(he sighed)Mujhe usse maafi mangni padegi..waise aap yaha kya kar rahi hain?

Laila: Hum bas yaha se guzar rahe the .bhabhi ko bahar bhagte hue jate dekha toh dekhne aye ki sab thik hain ya nahi...(Arsal nodded and went but he failed to notice that his cellphone wasn't in his pocket anymore.)

Laila: Arsal nahi toh uska phone hi sahi..mera aadha Kaam toh ho hi gaya..Ab dekhna Anubhav tumhare dar ko main kaise sach karti hun..tumhare Haseena ko dur kardungi main tumse..(she laughed evilly.)
