Released in 1965 as part of the TV Special "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth, and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled
Joyful, all ye nations, rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With th' angelic host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Har, the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Hail, the heav'n-born Prince of peace
Hail! the Son of Righteousness
Light and life to all he brings
Risen with healing in his wings
Mild he lays his glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the some of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Hark, the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth, and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled
Joyful, all ye nations, rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With th' angelic host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Hark, the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King

It's time for Christmas music! Recently, I got home from college and been watching TV on our Apple TV. Apple has teamed up with the makers of Charlie Brown (or I think) because all of the classic Charlie Brown films are on there. Charlie Brown Christmas? Yup, they have it! It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown? They have it! Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!? Yes they do!

So yesterday and today, I binge watched some of the Charlie Brown films, including the 1965 Christmas special. It really was cute and it was glad to revisit a classic I haven't seen in ages. I love how Snoopy decorates his dog house up but Charlie is mad because the house looks "commercialized". I also love how Lucy tells Schroeder how Beethoven isn't cool because "he isn't on any bubblegum cards". It was very good to rewatch it after all these years.

This year, I've been a sucker for old (like really old) Christmas music that dates back to the 1700's. Maybe it has to do with the fact I just took a class on music and we talked a lot about classical music?!?! But anyhow, old Christmas songs are the best.

This one dates back to 1739 and has been a classic since. I really like this one because of the plot associated with the movie. After Charlie thinks he ruined Christmas, the Peanuts gang decorate the small tree he got and they all sing this song at the end. It's a bitter sweet ending and something about 50/60s Christmas to me are the best years of Christmas.

Definitely check out this classic Christmas film and soundtrack!!
