Released in 1968, did not chart the top 40
When will the clouds all roll away?
When will the good people have their say?
I hope you're still round to see the day
Take a while
Think about it
Take a while
Think about it
Take a while
Think about itWho can tell what is up or down?
You can be the king or be the clown
Then climb your tree, take a look around
Take a while
Think about it
Take a while
Think about it
Take a while
Think about itCircles of life, an infinite plane
That which is now now will be again
Who can decide who is insane?
Take a while
Think about it
Take a while
Think about it
Take a while
Think about itWow, I am back! The Yardbirds are legendary. If you don't know why, it's because they had three of the most popular and greatest guitar players ever: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page.
This song was released in 1968 and Eric was doing his own thing with a little band called Cream and Jeff was solo. During the last year of The Yardbirds, Jimmy was the lead guitarist and is detailed in "Think About It."
The lyrics aren't something that are "inspirational or godly", but the chorus "Take a while, think about, take a while, think about it, take a while, think about it" by Keith Relf is quite catchy. I have gotten it stuck in my head for a bit.
But the best part is the solo by Jimmy. He KILLS it on the guitar and does some awesome shredding. When I first heard of The Yardbirds, I was always amazed by their guitar solos and how advanced they were for the mid to late 60's. Apparently this solo inspired "Dazed and Confused" by Led Zeppelin, the next band Jimmy was in.
The hook is good too. Its very simple and it grabs you in quite good. Then you can hear Jimmy just play over Keith's vocals and shred into the solo.
So, this is a great guitar song and that is why I recommend it.
If I can play like Jimmy, I would die.
