CHAPTER 7

- BECCA-

There was a boy - from the smell of the musky scent and the loud footsteps - following her, ever since she left the bar. She thought he would have stopped after going their separate ways with Keller, but no, he was still here for some reason.

And if this boy had something to do with the cops or was a spy for why - she gasped inside her head. Maybe this boy knew that she had illegally been and drank in the bar. But how could he know? Besides, she had just gone to the bar because she wanted to celebrate her passing in her duty of the successful surgery she had done. The baby had lived through. And before giving back the newborn to its family, she had felt utter empathy for the baby for going to have to go through what Becca herself had been through from today. The tough roads in life.

She blessed or a.k.a, sent a silent prayer on this child, asking for God's guidance to this child.

But why was this boy following her? Did she know him? She tried to rack her brain for any trigger on an Asian boy with white and black cloth-

A scene in her head triggered.

An Asian boy in white and black clothes! An Asian boy! The police who had come into the bar, were looking for the guy who was still right behind her.

Why the police? Was he a kidnapper, a murderer?

No, he would have grabbed her already. So why? She gathered another round of courage and repeated,

"Why. are. you. following. me?"

No reply, from behind.

What was wrong with the boy?

She finally turned around, and to her surprise, found the boy looking confused and a bit shy for a second, and then their eyes met.

Brown to brown. Gold flecks to green flecks.

Then the boy ran a hand through his hair, looking a bit flustered - which was not to say, a bit cute to Becca - and then he walked away.

Her eyes followed the boy - full of questions - as he turned the corner, and down the lane/

What was that about? She shook her head and continued walking home. Hurrying, to get home before her parents started wondering where she had actually gone.
