CHAPTER 2
After having to retake her medication a second time, with the first one falling on the floor, she then poured some water into her usual, plastic cup. She subsequently sat in the green and beige round chair, with a bunch of thoughts in her head. Should she go to work today or not? She was feeling a bit light-headed...
In the end, she decided to go to her job at the medical baby delivering hospital. She closed the front-brown door - with her black, shoulder bad, almost getting snagged by the front door.
She followed the pathway that led her to the road as she sipped some coffee.
She stopped.
She wrinkled her nose at what she had just drunk. There was a problem and it was that she added too little sugar.
She sighed and then looked up at the blue sky for a moment and then proceeded to walk on the gravel pavement. She drove off, in her gray car or silver, as she would say. She put some slow music on and once she started driving, she sipped her coffee from her black mug and at times, rubbed her forehead.
It was getting hot in the car. She opened the car windows but then immediately shut it, as she turned chilly.
What was wrong with her? Whatever - she didn't want to rest her job just because she felt ill. And she really didn't want to. It was her duty, not just physically but spiritually to be at this job - to guide and bless babies from when they were born so that they could have a healthy life.
Beep, Beep. The car reacted to what Becca was doing with the car key - turning off the engine.
She got out of her car, simultaneously grabbing her bag that was on the car seat next to her.

The glass doors slid open as she walked into the -
Becca sniffed.
Newly put Clorox/sanitized floors wafted to her.
That was unusual.
Usually, the hospital would not have its whole building sanitized unless something was up.
She quickly climbed the stairs that led to the delivery section for newborns. She opened the door to her locker, shoved her stuff in, and replaced her coat with a yellow gown and cap.
Halfway to the main meeting room where nurses and doctors came together, she realized that she had on, her gown and cap - only used for surgeries.
Oh, fuck it.
And walked into the ajar door. The room hushed as she - the captain of the nurses - walked in but then the room resumed its quiet chatter.
Wondering what was going on and why the whole hospital was sanitized, she waited for a full minute because she figured that someone would tell her, the captain of nurses, what was going on. But since no one did, she tapped on the shoulder of a nearby nurse, and asked,
"Could you tell me what the commotion is and with the whole building?" As the nurse adjusted her clear, framed - glasses, she replied,
"Uh, we're about to do surgery on a baby that had just been delivered."
"Wait, why a surgery? What's wrong with the baby?" Becca sanitized her hands and put on gloves as she asked.
"We're doing surgery because the baby that was delivered...there was something wrong with its intestines and so, Dr. Hirose - the doctor in charge - said that there might be a way to fix it. But-"
