Scarlet sings out to the audience in a heart-wrenching opera style while lying on a beautiful fainting couch, "I'm lost at sea...
"I've lost a half of me.
"This smile you see.
"Born from cruel misery.
"Faked oh so long...
"Hardly know what's wrong.
"When you peer in my eyes.
"Do you see the disguise?
"Can you meet me at night?
"Ask me what's wrong.
"Don't make me sing a song!
"Take me along.
"The winding road.
"A while for me.
"Torn from old memories...
"Down to the shining sea."
Cassandra steps back and stretches her arm into the air, then sings out apologetically, "I hadn't known!
"How far you'd gone.
"I feel your pain.
"But what's your name?"
She sits up slowly, shakes her head, then smiles faintly and sings modestly, "Doesn't matter..."
"It does to me!"
She turns to her and tilts her head. "What's the matter?"
"What's up with you?"
"Why do you care?"
"Feel something's in the air!" She sits down beside her, then takes her hands and stares into her eyes. "Know you don't care...
"But there's something we share!"
She takes back her hands. "What's this something of yours?"
She throws up her arms. "I'm not sure, but you've opened the door."
"To what? To pain? To war?"
"A war of the heart is common in us!
"But if we'll ride this bus.
"And take that train.
"Then we're sure to end up.
"In a new kind of place.
"Far out in space!
"Where up is down!
"And light is all around...
"We should go, we should run!"
She looks down solemnly. "I'm sorry, but-"
"Sorry, but what?"
She stares her down impatiently. "If you'd let me say what I need to say!
"Then we wouldn't be here all day.
"This place of yours, I've been before..."
"Been before, are you sure?"
"Well, that's why I sang you that song.
"How it strung me along.
"And made me feel pretty.
"My head felt so silly.
