It was a couple of days after we argued. Honestly it was his fault, why did I get the blame? He was so touchy with his childhood friend and it obviously would've made me jealous! Being like that to her.. Why can't he do that to me instead? I couldn't take it anymore that night. I went and told him that I want to put some distance between us after the long argument. "Did I do the right thing?" Shinichi thought to himself before staring at his phone's lock screen. A picture of Kaito kissing him on the cheek. A blush filled the detective's face as he bury his face into the pillow. "I miss him."

Meanwhile at the Kuroba residence,

"So you two argued because you've been awfully close with Aoko-chan?" A woman spoke. "Yes, and it's stupid why he would do such a thing! Like does he not know that I just love pranking Aoko? Obviously I get close to her to do my tricks!" The messy haired boy said frustratingly "By tricks you mean harassment?"Kaito were shocked by those words and argued back "Those are pranks mum, it's different" said Kaito. "Whatever you say~ I'll be heading out now. Hopefully you two will fix this somehow. I can't stand seeing you moping around instead of doing your usual magic tricks. Cheer up a bit okay? I'm sure Kudou-kun isn't that mad at you anymore." Ms. Kuroba heads out of the house leaving Kaito all alone at the residence.

Kaito opened his phone to check the time only to be greeted with a lock screen picture of Shinichi blushing. "Teasing my Shin-chan has always been so fun. Seeing him react and blush." Kaito frowned. It was supposed to be our anniversary today and we would've gone on a date but, I didn't expect this to happen. "Why does everything remind me of him?!" Kaito said frustratingly to himself, holding the urge to text his beloved 'i miss you'.

A week has passed and none of them wanted to text first. If this goes on, what would happen to their relationship?

"Ran, this is serious! Shinichi has been upset for a week now. The look on his face really shows that he's missing someone and is going through a heartbreak. I don't think he's focusing on the lectures at all." Said the girl known as Suzuki Sonoko, Ran's best friend. "I know. Did you think I didn't notice? He probably had so many cases to do. Unless he and Kaito had an argument?"

Ran said before realising what's going on. "Yeah that's what I was trying to tell you, he's going through a heartbreak right now. I can't stand looking at him like this, we should do something." Sonoko frowned. "You're right I'll invite him to his favourite cafe nearby after the lectures. We can plan something for him and how he could resolve his issues. We need to know what happened to him first though so let's go with that first." And with that Ran texted Shinichi the invitation and the two best friends waited until the end of their lectures to head to the nearby cafe.

"He's not gonna come." Sonoko annoyingly sigh. "I'm sure he would. I know how he is. He wouldn't decline an offer for some of his favourite coffee." Ran assuringly said. Though she's also a bit worried that he won't come to the cafe due to his mood. "There he is!" Sonoko exclaimed. "Sorry guys I was caught on another case on the way here. Haha "Shinichi sighed. He would always attract cases everywhere no matter where he go and at this point Shinichi had wished that there were less cases to do as it's beginning to take a toll on his body. Shinichi sat down facing towards the two girls. "You guys called me here, so there must be something to talk about right?" Shinichi tried to keep his composure so it wouldn't worry his best friends.

"Yes, in fact we've noticed this for about a week now. You seem so gloomy during lectures and we notice you would zone out every now and then-""Huh was it obvious?!" Shinichi cut his childhood friend off. Blushing intensely at the thought of people noticing. The eyebags under his eyes and the tiredness emitting from Shinichi is definitely obvious to everyone around him. He looked like he had sleepless nights. "Yes, you should look at yourself in the mirror. You look horrible." Ran notices that Shinichi is getting redder. "Wait a minute why is your face getting red? Are you having a fever?" Concerned Ran asked the Detective while Sonoko kept quiet.

"Please just tell us what happened last week. Are you sure you're okay?" Sonoko broke the silence. It was silent again. "Here are the drinks you ordered." The waiter handed them their beverages. "Thank you" Shinichi responded and sipping into his favourite coffee. Silence engulfed them again and only the chatters can be heard around them. "Kaito." Shinichi broke the silence again. Sonoko and Ran figured that might be the issue. Fighting the urge to not reply with a 'of course it's him' the both of them stayed quiet. "We argued last week. It's stupid of myself to just put a distance between the both of us and to just start missing him. Every night I-" Shinichi stopped, feeling another blush coming up his face. "Every night what?" Sonoko asked with a curious gaze. If anyone could see Shinichi right now, he would look as red as a tomato! "N-nothing, I've told you guys enough. I'll be taking my leave. Thank you for getting me my favourite cof-"

"You're not going anywhere. I'm sick of seeing you moping around like this. Let me help you please." Ran grabbed Shinichi before letting his hand go. "It's okay you guys. I don't need to bother you with my relationship problems-" "Nuh uh NO WAY. We're gonna help you and that's final!" Sonoko interrupted. Looking at Sonoko, Shinichi doesn't think that she would change her mind anytime soon. And so the 3 of them planned what they're going to do at the cafe and went home when the sun touched the ground.

While walking home I saw Shinichi with those other two at the cafe. I didn't really have the mood to read their lips and figure out what they were talking about so I just kept walking. I lied, I hid at a nearby bush and spied on the 3 of them. What? It's not stalking right? Anyway, I couldn't figure out what they were really talking about but looking at my Shinichi put my heart at ease. We go to the same university so I get to see him most of the time. Our majors are different so our schedules dont overlap that much but I do see him at hallways when I switch classes. Lately though when I do see him, he seems to be avoiding me. It is understandable since we told each other to bring some distance between us.

A couple of moments passed and I saw them leaving the cafe. "How I wish I could just be there with you my Shin-chan" Kaito sighs. He gets up and walks home. He reached his doorstep and opened the door only to be greeted by silence and darkness. He switched the lights on and threw himself onto the sofa. And slowly the world turns dark. "I haven't gotten enough sleep lately huh" the magician asked himself before dozing off to a deep slumber.

"Kaito can you hear me?" I heard a voice. "Kaito wake up you're late!" A short girl screamed at him. Realising who she was Kaito wakes up and greeted the girl "Good morning Aoko" Kaito smiled "Do not 'Good morning' me. It's already the afternoon" Aoko annoyed. Wait did she say it's the afternoon? Oh no I missed my morning classes. Kaito thought to himself before being interrupted by Aoko once again. "Hello? Bakaito are you there? Your house looks like a mess are you okay?" Aoko snaps "Ah, yes sorry. Thank you for coming to check up on me" "You better be! Hakuba would be mad if he knows I'm going over to your house to check up on you. I'll be heading out now. There seems to be someone waiting to see you outside though."

Someone's waiting for me outside? Who could that be? "Wait Aoko can you tell me who's waiting for me outside? Is it-" I got up and walked over to Aoko only to slip on my magic equipment. "Kaito what are you-" I opened my eyes to see Aoko under me and realising what position we are in right now. Before I could stand up, the door opened to reveal Shinichi. Our eyes met. He stood still. He looked like he was about to cry and before I could say a word, he ran away and closed the door.
