OBITO UCHIHA was high as a kite.
Barely containing the little lazy snickers, Kakashi and Rin had been staring at him with evident puzzlement ever since they had swung by his apartment twenty minutes prior. Being the oblivious soul that he was - it completely slipped Obito's mind about ever agreeing to a sleepover scheduled for that night.
And so, both the Hatake and Nohara had wound up in front of the Uchiha's door with obvious surprise to see her - the pretty Senju girl - standing behind him with her arms lazily wrapped around his waist.
She stood there; peeking over Obito's shoulder in nothing more but a pair of pyjama shorts and his t-shirt. Rin could barely control the frown from showing on her pink lips, the clench of her jaw rather tight. Kakashi on the other hand, seemed unfazed. However, the corners of his lips still tugged upwards into a timid smile when she let go of Obito to wrap her arms around him to hug him instead.
It was just a friendly embrace, nothing more. Kakashi knew that something was going on between her and his best friend, and so he kept himself in check - especially at the stern look Obito sent his way when her back was turned towards him.
Kakashi would respect what the Uchiha had asked of him all those months ago. He'd back off - albeit with a heavy heart. He really liked this girl, but it's not like he stood a chance with her in the first place.
Her eyes had been set on Obito ever since the start. He had known that ever since he had invited her to join them on the rooftop, and whatever had happened at the club on the night of the Uchiha's birthday only confirmed Kakashi's suspicions. He could still remember the dazed look to linger on Obito's face when he finally rejoined their table that night. Obito hadn't told anyone of what had happened, but it didn't take a scientist to figure it out.
His best friend really was one lucky son of a bitch, and Kakashi couldn't help but feel envious.
Unlike most girls they both chased after together; this one leaned towards the rugged Uchiha instead. And that was alright - no matter the pang of jealousy to burn somewhere inside the back of his mind. Kakashi considered Obito like a brother, after all. He wouldn't let a girl come between their bond; no matter how pretty, smart, or fun. It stung a bit, but he'd live through it. He had to.
And so, Kakashi watched the pair with tired eyes as they both messed around the kitchen, playfully shoving at each other to determine who would be able to rummage through the cupboard for snacks first. The whites inside their eyes were an obvious red by now.
Kakashi sighed from the pure exasperation as he turned to look towards Rin who was staring at the unlikely pair just the same. He spotted the Nohara's brows knit tightly together when Obito had started to snicker with a face as bright red as a tomato as soon as the Senju had whispered something into his ear.
It was going to be a long night, it seemed.
---
"Hey, Kakashi. What's this movie even about?", Obito spoke for the third time that night.
"Depression.", Kakashi replied as they all laid sprawled on the Uchiha's couch, watching the film neither Obito, or y/n could grasp the concept of.
Speaking of the pair, they were both snuggled under the fuzzy blanket together, and every five minutes or so kept asking Kakashi what the plot was about. The tired Hatake provided a different answer every single time just to mess with them, and with each answer they kept nodding like a couple of idiots, muttering something to themselves quietly.
Kakashi found them cute, despite the jealousy. He couldn't remember when he had last seen Obito this happy. And besides, they made sure to actually converse with both him and Rin. For that reason alone, Hatake had taken over the role of a patient babysitter. He also took care of the cat, which was now happily curled on his lap - purring like it only had one last chance to do so.
"Depression?", Obito repeated Kakashi's answer now, the smug look on his face evident as he turned towards the Senju who was curled up against him just like the feline on Kakashi's lap. He nudged her to answer him gently.
"Cripplin'.", she mumbled finally, the giggles fast to lace her voice now.
"Mm, anxiety?", Obito snickered lowly, trying to inhale a shaky breath. He could barely keep it together when he watched her hide her face away from him.
"P-Paralyzin'.", she laughed, the sound coming out muffled from the blanket she was pressing to her face now.
"Hah, s-stop it!", Obito laughed before trying to press his quivering lips tightly together to continue, "Pussy?"
"Poppin'!", she squealed as the laughter took over, and he joined right in. God, they were acting like children.
"Can we please just watch the movie, you guys?", Rin finally decided to break her rather uncharacteristic silence.
"Yeah, hah! Sorry, Rin.", Obito replied, trying to motion over his lips as if he had zipped them up, "No more giggling, y/n. Only peace and quiet I demand."
"Why the fuck are you talking like Yoda all of a sudden?!", she laughed from under the blanket, and by the time her face peeked from under it, she was red as a stop sign.
There were actual tears running down her cheeks when she turned to look at Obito. Her shoulders shook with each attempt of stiffling down the laughter, but as soon as he grinned at her - it set off another laughing fit all over again.
"I can do a great Chewbacca impression, wanna hear?", Obito asked with a trembling exhale. His eyelids fell so heavy on his dark eyes, turning his gaze hooded to such an attractive degree. She blushed at the way he looked at her now.
"All Chewie does is growl, you idiot.", she chuckled, pressing her palm to his lips to stop him before he could even start the attempt. Her stomach hurt from all the laughing, and it'd most surely burst if he started another fit again.
"Shh.", she shushed him now with a snicker of her own, pressing her index finger to her lips, "Be a good boy and stay quiet for me now, Obito. We don't want Rin to be mad at us."
He stilled all of a sudden, and the living room was dark, but she could still see his pupils dilate dramatically as he stared into her very soul. Oh, she knew that look. She watched his Adam's apple bob as he swallowed harshly, and before she could even begin to shake her head no, he quickly glanced to the side to look if either Kakashi or Rin were paying attention to them.
They weren't.
But, it wasn't like they could see her anyway. She was completely hidden behind Obito when he turned his back towards his friends, after all. As soon as he turned to look at her again, she did begin to shake her head this time, but Obito had only started to nod in reply.
His fingers wrapped around her wrist which she kept close to her chin from shushing him earlier, and before she could even fight him on it - he pushed her hand underneath the blanket much to her feverishly whispered protests.
He placed her hand right on his dick, and she could see his eyes flash crimson cheekily as he watched the way her face reddened to match the shade inside his irises now.
God, she could feel the outline of his hard cock even through the thick material of the sweatpants he had on. When her fingers curled around him tightly over all the layers of clothing, he shuddered, squeezing his eyes shut. She was thankful for keeping her other palm pressed tightly against his lips all this time.
Time for bed.
