"the mizuki clan.

a clan long forgotten.

it was said that over thousands of years ago, there was a god called the butterfly dragon, and that it gave birth to jujutsu in japan. curses were already roaming free due to human's negative emotions, there just wasn't anyone capable to exorcise them. so with the blessing of the butterfly dragon, a group of people were chosen, gifted with the god's flame, to protect japan from curses and cursed spirits.

this group of sorcerers then formed the mizuki clan, naming it after their strongest member, mizuki kenji.

the mizuki clan worshipped the butterfly dragon, because if it weren't for her blessing, they'd still be a bunch of nobodies, really.

when the clan expanded, mizuki kenji found his bride, got married, and had four beautiful children. the clan then crowned him and his wife king and queen because they believed in a supreme rule of royalty, for which mizuki kenji's blood was handpicked by the god herself to absorb her soul so he could pass down the sacred flame for generations to come.

believe me, i hate this story too.

as jujutsu sorcery began to grow and as more cursed techniques were manifested, people eventually left the clan, to form others like our big three; the gojo clan, the zen' in clan and the kamo clan.

though originally known as the big four, with the mizuki clan amongst the hierarchy of great sorcerer families, a stir of cosmic imbalance started to disrupt the peaceful chain of command and power.

the heian era, when the vengeful cursed spirit, ryomen sukuna, was finally defeated. even though the heian era was known as the height of cursed techniques and the golden age of jujutsu, hundreds and possibly thousands of sorcerers still gave their lives to ensure that the king of curses may never roam free again.

i'd say they tried their best.

the mizuki clan especially, took a huge blow after his exorcism as the king was starting to worry about the decline in 'pure blood' mizuki members, basically his direct descendants, to carry on the torch of bearing the butterfly dragon's flame.

similar to the kamo clan, the mizuki clan valued blood ties immeasurably. so after the exorcism of ryomen sukuna, the king moved his entire clan, or at least what's left of it, to the outskirts of yokohama, amongst the threshold of woodland, where he casted a barrier and swore to never interfere with the affairs outside the clan no matter what.

he wanted to protect the mizuki bloodline and their sacred techniques blessed by the god herself.

from then on the mizuki clan was known as the missing clan, as the king's barrier had concealed them from the world so no one knew where they went. most people just assumed they perished from the great war, while others came up with conspiracy theories that the king had actually instigated the rise of ryomen sukuna before he was exorcised.

over the centuries, the mizuki clan kept to themselves. they grew their own crops, bred their own livestock, and to protect the precious bloodline, the generations of kings demanded their sons and daughters to continue preserving the mizuki bloodline.

yes, it's whatever you're thinking of. fucked up, i know.

but when it came to my great grandfather's rule, he wanted to put an end to that atrocity, so he allowed his children to marry for love, instead of you know, one another, which caused an uproar within the other members of the estate.
