Chapter 20 - Final

"How are you feeling doll?"

I looked down to see Bucky place his hand on my growing belly. In a few short months, Steve and I would be welcoming our first child, "I'm feeling okay Buck." I felt him rest his forehead on mine, "you're my best friend you know. Thanks for doing this for me today."

Bucky smiled, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, "me too doll. And there is no where else I would rather be. I'm happy to do this for you. Are you ready?"

I sighed nervously, "yes. Let's do this."

He laughed, hooking his arm for her to take as he led her out of the house she shared with Steve.

I heard the music begin to play as the door opened to the backyard where all their friends were waiting for her, Steve at the center. I gripped onto Bucky's arm as he walked me down the aisle towards Steve. As we approached him I felt him lean down, kissing me on the cheek as he stood next to Steve. I watched him, smiling as we waited for the vows.

Steve went first. "Melody, I knew from the first moment I saw you that you were different. That you were meant for me, that was only solidified the first time I kissed you. I love you so much Melody and I can't wait for you to be my wife."

I smiled, feeling the stinging of tears in my eyes, "I know things haven't gone exactly how we thought things would go, but I can't imagine being here with anyone else but you. You helped me in more ways than one to discover myself and break me out of my shell. I love you so much too." I waited impatiently for the minister to pronounce as I watched Steve smile before leaning his lips down to mine. I moaned softly as I felt him rest a hand on my stomach, my hand in his hair.

*****5 Years Later*****

"Anthony James! Get inside this house now!"

I heard Steve laugh as we watched our almost 5 year old hobble through the snow, into the back door. I looked at Steve, "it's not funny. He's been out there for hours, he's going to freeze to death."

Steve laughed again, "not with the serum flowing through him."

I rolled my eyes, "yeah yeah. We were never meant to have normal kids, huh?"

Steve shook his head as little Tony made his way inside. He knelt in front of him, helping him remove his snow suit and boots, "nope. But it'll be fine Mel."

I nodded, "I know it will." I placed my hand on my stomach where our daughter was now growing. "I want a whole litter of little super soldier kids."

Steve laughed, picking up Tony as he approached Melody, "whatever you want."

I nodded, "damn right." I heard him laugh again as I pressed my lips to his.
