"Ms. Carbonell. I'm glad you're here."
I rolled my eyes at Tony as I laughed, "seriously? Is that what you're going to call me?"
He shrugged, "why not? As long as you're working here at the compound. We can keep it professional."
I groaned, "whatever. Please tell me that you told Steve I was going to be working here." I watched him hesitate, "Tony! You have got to be kidding me! This isn't going to end well."
He scoffed, "it's fine. Come to the party tonight so you can see him. We can tell him then."
I sighed. I hadn't seen Steve in weeks. I had gone back to my normal life; my normal job. Until Tony showed up and insisted I work at the Avenger's compound. I knew it was some sort of meddlesome ploy to try and get Steve and me together. "I don't know if that's a good idea Tony. Should we really bombard him?"
"You know he keeps that picture you made him on the wall above his desk. He still thinks of you. I know he still has feelings for you. And now you don't have to worry about competing with the other girls. It'll just be you."
"Really?"
Tony nodded, "yes. Just come."
I sighed, "I'll think about it. I have to go. Later Uncle Tony." I leaned up, kissing him on the cheek.

I took a deep breath, letting it out slowly as I entered Tony's party. I was greeted by Bucky and Natasha, "hi."
Bucky smiled, "hey doll. We've missed you."
I nodded, "I'm hoping you're not the only one?"
Natasha looked at Bucky and back at her, "I don't know. I've heard he might be seeing someone. But I'm not sure."
I felt my stomach sink to my stomach, "really?" I shook my head, "I shouldn't have come." I ran out of the party, luckily not running into Steve as I went into Tony's office. I don't know how long I had been pacing when I heard someone come in. I looked to see Bucky, "I shouldn't have come. He's moved on."
He shook his head, "you don't know that."
I nodded, "Natasha says she isn't sure, but she's a terrible liar when it comes to lying to friends."
He groaned, "you want him, then assert yourself. Don't give up now. Please." He grabbed her arm, making her stop to look at him, "go in there and assert yourself. Claim him."
I felt him bring his flesh hand to my cheek as a tears escaped, "I don't know if I can."
"Of course you can." He wrapped his arms around her as he felt her relax into him, "you love him, don't you?"
I pulled away, nodding, "I do."
Bucky smiled, "good. Then go. Sing him a song doll."
I nodded, "okay. Can I have a minute?"
"Of course."
I grabbed his hand before he could leave, "thank you Buck."
He nodded, smiling, "of course. I'm rooting for you."
I smiled as I watched him leave and I started to pace again, trying to decide if it was a good idea to declare my feelings in a room full of people I didn't even know. Especially in front of a possible girlfriend of Steve's. I groaned, looking up to see Tony enter the office. "I'm coming. I'm coming."

"Ready?" I looked at my date as we arrived at Tony's party. She wasn't who I had wanted, but at least she hadn't lied to me. I watched her adjust her brown hair before we walked into the party. I saw Natasha and Bucky first, receiving glares as we entered. I tried to ignore them as I led her to the dance floor as I heard music start to play. I stopped when I heard her voice, turning to see my green eyes playing the piano.
🎵 If you would just slow down
You would see
We were meant for something
Lay your armor down and stay with me
Aren't you tired of runnin'?
Can we go back before the storm came raging
And everything we built was gone
So sing to me
Till I fall asleep
Like the way you did when you were still mine
And tell me that it's not over yet
We were never good at saying goodbyes
Why can't you see what's right in front of your eyes
Remember our first kiss
That starry night
It felt like we were flying
So how do we forget
That love is on our side
Oh, we never saw this coming
Can we go back before the morning took you
And every dream of you was gone
So sing to me
Till I fall asleep
Like the way you did when you were still mine
And tell me that it's not over yet
We were never good at saying goodbyes
Why can't you see what's right in front of your eyes
Woah, woah, woah
Can we go back before the storm came raging
And everything we built was gone
So sing to me
Till I fall asleep
Like the way you did when you were still mine
So sing to me
Till I fall asleep
Like the way you did when you were still mine
And tell me that it's not over yet
We were never good at saying goodbyes
Oh, we were never good at saying goodbyes
Why can't you see what's right in front of your eyes🎵*********************************************************
I looked out to see Steve with one of the other girls from the house as I started to feel sick. He had chosen someone else over me. He really had moved on. I groaned as I finished the song, rushing out of the compound as I ignored him calling my name. I would have to remember to kill Tony; it would only be me.
