His Unexpected Goodbye

The fundraiser event was successful, we were able to raise enough money to help the children of the orphanage and provide for their needs. Sapient University's mini concert and afterparty also went well, we were all very tired after the entire event. Now it's Tuesday, 8:00 a.m, and our flight to Surigao del Norte is hours away.

I cooked breakfast for myself because I woke up late and my parents already left for work. After frying bacon and eggs, I ate while scrolling through social media and looking at the posts from last night. I even rewatched the live, the school's Facebook page is also filled with many photos and videos from the event.

My luggage, duffle bag and other personal belongings are ready so I just placed them in the living room. While looking at it, I could sense that I might have overpacked. Although we are staying there for at least a week.

While washing the plates, my phone suddenly started ringing and it's Vrylle calling me. She's probably going to ask about the trip. I answered the phone after wiping my wet hands.

"Rox!" She says. "Are you ready? I'm so excited, Venylie said let's meet up at the airport. I can't wait, I already packed."

"I'm done packing too, let's just see each other at the airport later. Korics says he's going to pick me up." I responded. "After lunch, in the airport. See you Vry, I gotta go!"

I hung up and once I finished washing the dishes I took a bath, and wore my outfit for the flight. It won't be a very long flight, and honestly there are plenty of ways to travel to Surigao, by air, land, even sea. Zamboanga to Surigao can easily be travelled by land but Missis Laciones wants us to travel by air since she already fixed the plans.

There is a sudden knock on the door, I opened it and Korics is standing there looking very sleep deprived. I looked outside, he didn't bring his motorcycle this time, he just rode a taxi.

"Let's go?" He asked, he helped me bring my bags to put them inside the taxi, my bags were very heavy because they're filled with outfits and three sensible pairs of shoes. "I know it's still early but we can't be late, let's just grab lunch when we arrive, there's a restaurant near the airport."

"Okay, is Venylie there already?" I asked when we were both in the taxi. It drove off and I was busy scrolling through my phone and of course making sure I didn't forget anything. "She has our tickets, right?"

"Yes, she's already in the airport. Amee is also there too, we're going to have lunch together." He prepared his wallet to pay for the taxi ride, we were in a rush for no reason. I mean... it's barely even 1:00 p.m. "I tried calling Gaia but she won't pick up."

"She called me earlier. Maybe she's still fixing her things." I said.

We arrived right on time, I could see Amee there waiting for us. Korics payed and carried our stuff, I offered to carry my duffle bag and his other light luggages so I can help. It wasn't that heavy.

Soir Diner, a restaurant close to the airport, they serve various types of meals and dishes so we all decided to eat lunch there. Theia arrived with Vrylle, and I was shocked while looking at their things.

I thought I overpacked but when I saw the amount of things Vrylle brought with her, my jaw almost dropped! Seriously, I'm not even exaggerating things, it's one big suitcase with two duffle bags and one handbag. Even Ven was surprised.

Theia also brought a lot of things, we all did actually. I can't even imagine how we're going to bring all of these, but I'm more thrilled for the activities that awaits us when we arrive in Surigao del Norte, and in Siargao!
