Asami was silent as she watched Izana back getting smaller and smaller until he disappeared from her sight.
"I'm annoying, huh?" She smile bitterly. "I should tone it down..."
Asami decided to roam around the park before heading back to the orphanage because she need to be alone for a while. And she was sure Izana as well need to have his own space.
The memories of her past lives flashes in her mind. She used to be alone and always had her face stuck inside books, having no social in her life. It was sad. Her life was dull and she only followed her parents orders like a lifeless puppet that was played by her parents.
Hence why she had acted so cheerful and sickly sweet because she doesn't want to be like how she used to. You may call it a fake personality --she does it too.
"This kid got a ugly scars! Ew!!"
She stopped in her tracks once she heard them. Emotionless Crystal blue eyes glanced at the voice. There stood 2 kids, making fun of the 1 boy that were on the ground, possibly being pushed by them.
"Eww disgusting! Hahaha!"
Asami grabbed a handful of sand into her palm and slowly made her way to them. Before one of them tried to kick the boy, she stood in between them, blocking them from touching the boy.
One thing she hates the most after her parents was bullies. She despised them.
"Who are you?!"
"Get lost girl!"
Asami glares harshly at them. They could felt chills running down their spine at how deadly and cold she's giving them. "... Making fun of someone appearance.... How pathetic."
They were angry and tried to beat her but she threw the sand at their faces and grabbed their back collar, pulling it until it covered their head then she pushed them down onto the ground.
"Get lost." She uttered coldly. They pulled their shirt back to it originally from and scrambled up to their feet, running away from her in fear. "You're kidding... It only took a little push and their running away.. Cowards.." She scoffed.
While Asami busy staring at them running away and making sure they won't come back, the boy behind her was staring at her back in awe. Dark locks swaying by the wind along with her dress.
Asami finally turned back to him and his heart skip a beat at how beautiful she looks, especially her crystal blue eyes that were shining from the sunlight.
"Hey.. Are you okay?" She squats down to his level since he was sitting on the ground. She was checking his face and body for any wounds. Upon realising what she was doing, he had forgotten to cover up his face. He raised his arm and covered his face from her. "What are you doing?"
"D.. DON'T LOOK!"
Asami blinks a few times before giving him a gentle smile. "Is this about the scars?" He flinched. "You don't have to worry about that."
"...isnt it disgusting? Doesn't it makes you puke?"
Asami stares at him. Her stares were so serious that it makes him feel small. "No. Actually, I'm more jealous of your pretty lashes... How pretty.."
"H.. Huh?"
"Your eyelashes. It's really pretty." She grinned. "Hmm? The more I look at your face, you look more pretty than handsome actually." She placed her hands on both sides of his face and stares at him deeply. The boy could felt his ears and face warm up. "Alright! It's decided!" She suddenly exclaimed and he look confused. She held out her hand to him as she stood up with a large grin. "You're my friend now!"
The boy felt warm inside of him. He never had friends before because of his scars. He look at the outstretched hand for a few seconds and hesitantly grabbed it. She pulled him up easily and chuckle, "Woah, you're so light! Did you eat properly?"
"Y-yes I did!" He was blushing.
"Is that so? Anyway, what's your name, pretty boy?"
"Ak.. Sanzu Haruchiyo.."
"Sanzu Haruchiyo... That's a nice name!" She grinned. "My name is Asami! Let's be friends, okay Haru-chan?"
"H-haru-chan?" He blushed before nodding his head. "Okay..let's be friends!"
However both of them could only play for a few minutes before a groups of people surrounded them. Asami stood protectively in front of Sanzu. She noticed the two boys from before and she glares.
"That's her, boss!"
"Yeah!"
Sanzu was worries for the girl and tried to pull her back but she stood on her ground and gave him a reassurance smile.
"So? You two can't handle me so you call your buddies, is that it?" She smirked. Truth be told, she's a little nervous as there's too many of them she could take on. Putting on a brave faces, she began taunting them with a smirk. "Weak~"
"Shut up, bitch!"
"Does your parents never teach you manners? Geez.." She dodged a sudden kick from them.
Vein popping out of the leader's forehead. He seems to be piss at her words and that's what she wanted. He goes for a left hook at her head but she swiftly move sideways and grabbed his outstretched wrist, twisting his arm over his shoulder and kneed the back of his knees. His legs gave out and fell onto the ground.
"ACK!"
"BOSS!"
When the boss is down, there's 2 options for the underling. It's either they surrender and helps their boss or desperately goes all out on the opponent to win.
Asami predicted they goes for the latter and she was right. All of them went charging in on her. She got plenty of hits here and there but she managed to block most of them and punched them back.
She tilted her head back only to see a flying fist went towards her. She couldn't react fast enough so she decided to brace herself at the impact but nothing came. "Huh?" She breathe out.
Sanzu punched the boy's cheek. He began fighting the rest of them with ease and Asami just stood there, blinking in confusion. She watched as how he flipped them over his shoulder and slammed them onto the ground and proceeds to punch them in their guts.
'This boy... Holy crap!'
"Pfft!" She laughed at how ridiculous the situation is. She was supposed to protect this defenseless boy from bullies but turns out he could actually beat them up with ease.
Sanzu send one last kick to them and quickly went to her. "A-are you okay? You took a lot of hits..... Why are you smiling like that?" He stops when he saw how Asami was smiling like a proud mother.
"I didn't know you could fight, Haru-chan! Why didn't you beat them up when they bullied you!" She was genuinely curious. Since the manga didn't fully reveal his back story, she doesn't know him that well. Sanzu was hesitant and she sense that. So she just smile and patted his head, "Well, I'm glad you can protect yourself. So when anyone mess with ya, you should beat them up and let them know they mess with the wrong person, okay!"
Asami figures Sanzu haven't met Mucho, who later on becoming his mentor. So she gratefully took this chance on making Sanzu her personal loyal friend for future plans.
Sanzu never got to experience the love and care from anyone so hearing her says that make him slightly happy. He want to feel this feeling again. He wants to stay with her so he could feel like he's somewhat important enough to care about. The corner of his scars lips turned up slightly. Yes, he want to be with her.
" Okay! "
