The Lonely Soul

Beneath the walls of her impenetrable soul;
Beneath the tears of pity and shame;
Beneath her heart, now black as coal
That seeks to find someone blame.
Beneath the truths that cannot be undone;
Beneath the lies she used to trust;
Lies beauty burning like the sun
That's slowly fading into dust.

Yet as I lay here in wonder tonight
And gaze upon your sweet complexion
I see its light that burns so bright
And realize that you are my perfection.
Your laugh, your voice, your eyes, your smile,
And all of which my love desires
Is found within your stunning style
Of which the world can only enquire.

But please don't shield your beauty with more dirt
And leave my love standing out in the rain.
For I know you feel that love only hurts
But with some good can come no pain.
So please, break down the walls from which it hides behind
And let me see your beauty whole
For one whole body was not designed
To encompass a single, lonely soul.
