Faint Whispers

Chapter 3

Luhan was in the library again. It's the only place in the world he can go to when house wasn't a choice. His father has been gambling again. They owned another debt and Luhan is trying his best not to think about it. But it is important when his mother is the victim too.

"Hey."

Luhan looked up from his book and saw that Kris had came.

"Kris, what are you doing here?" Luhan asked.

"Well, it's an hour to Suho's party." Kris said. "You didn't forget that, did you? You weren't outside."

"Um...I...I guess I forgotten..." Luhan mumbled.

"Did something happen?" Kris asked.

Kris is the only friend Luhan had in this school that he can feel comfortable with about talking about his family problems. How they met is a totally different story.

"Yeah..."

"Your father again?"

Luhan looked up at him. "You know me so well, Kris." He sighed.

"You told me a lot about your family, hyung. You told me all your secrets and I told you mine. How could I ever forget?"

Luhan nodded slowly and stared at his fingers.

"Now, what about going to the party with me to brighten up your mood?" Kris smiled.

"But didn't you say it's an hour away?" Luhan asked.

"Have you ever heard of before-party?" Kris winked at him and Luhan smiled, knowing what he's going to do.

Kris grabbed Luhan's hand and they ran along the library, cautiously. Luhan's laughter filled a particular person's ears. He stood behind the book shelves, staring at them until their disappeared.

"Sehun!"

Sehun looked back to see his usual gang.

"What is it?" He put his hands on his hip.

"We saw you looking at them. Why? Is Kris and Luhan that attractive?" Kai laughed.

"Well, they're hyungs to you. Kai." Sehun rolled his eyes.

"Since when are you so good to them? Did they bribe you?" Chanyeol asked, nudging Sehun.

"Or did you have some secret with them?" Kai said teasingly and his boyfriend, Kyungsoo, hit him in his head.

"Oww!" Kai rubbed his head.

"Thanks, Kyungsoo hyung," Sehun said and turned to look at Chanyeol and Kai, "I do not have any secrets with them, they did not bribe me."

"Then what?" Chanyeol asked.

"I just...just don't feel like bullying them anymore." Sehun sighed.

"What? Did I heard that right? Our mighty leader Oh Sehun decided to give up bullying the two amazing smartasses?" Kai asked.

"Shut that crap, Kai." Sehun growled.

"Okay chill, Sehun. Let's all go to Suho's party alright?" Kyungsoo asked.

"Yay! Party!" Chanyeol and Kai cheered and Kai earning another good hitting from Kyungsoo who sent a 'don't you dare flirt with other girls' look.

"Alright, let's go." Sehun decided.

Luhan and Kris went to the fountain that is not far from Suho's huge mansion. They sat on the cobbled stone seat.

"Isn't this place beautiful?" Kris asked.

"It is." Luhan nodded.

"It can help relief all the stress. You should come here more often." Kris suggested.

"You're right. I should."

"Don't worry, hyung. You and your mother will go through this. If not, I'll help."

"Thank you Kris. You have been a good friend." Luhan smiled.

"You're welcome, hyung. We met for a long time anyways." Kris laughed.

"Yeah, so long." Luhan said. But he had to admit that the 2 years with Kris isn't long compared to him and Sehun. He had more memories with Sehun instead and Kris was just...

"We still have time. Shall we go grab some ice cream?" Kris suggested.

"Okay, I'm in for it." Luhan said.

Sehun stood in front of huge monster - Suho's huge mansion - it was so huge, maybe larger than a stadium.

"Suho is damn rich." Chanyeol said in awe, mouth wide opened at the house.

"This is the first time he is holding his party in his home. We can use this advantage to look around his house for any clues about Lay hyung." Kai smirked.

"You still think those rumors are true?" Chanyeol asked.

"Yeah, judging from how close they two are every time in school, I bet on it. I'm sure we can find something, no doubt." Kai said confidently.

"And I'm sure he is not as stupid as you are, no doubt," Kyungsoo said in the same tone as Kai, "He isn't stupid to have obvious clues around his house when there is a huge party going on."

"Make sense. Hey, your boyfriend is kind of smart, Kai." Chanyeol laughed.

"Let's all go inside. It isn't so early anyways." Sehun said.

"Good idea. But how do we go in? There are like um....6 bodyguards." Kai pointed out.

"You are really dumb. Just tell them we're invited to the party. They'll let us in." Kyungsoo said.

"Unless the party is fake." Sehun added unhelpfully and stepped up to the first bodyguard in front the entrance.

"Stop. No invitations or agreements from Master Suho is not allowed to be in." The bodyguard with sun shades said.

"We're invited by your Master Suho to his massive big party. I know it's early but we like to be first." Sehun said.

The bodyguard looked at them suspiciously, then whispered something into his walkie-talkie. Suho's voice can be heard clearly.

"Just let them all in, even those that come after."

"Yes, I got it." The bodyguard replied and made way for them.

Sehun went in first than the others followed. The first entered a huge garden that 5 gardeners were working in. Then, they went through the huge doors and walked into the mansion. It has 4 stories and a basement, for the party.

"The party will be held downstairs. This way." One of the housekeeper showed them the staircase that leads to a rather dark place.

Sehun hesitated but Chanyeol urged him to go on. Sehun had no choice, he went down as the others followed. They finally set foot into the huge basement - which they didn't know was quite chilly - and everything was dark.
