Faint Whispers

Chapter 14

Luhan almost cried after hearing Chen's heart breaking story. But he is more concern about Chen himself. Chen wiped away some tears but more came.

"Don't cry Chen. Xiumin is all healthy now, you can start all over again with him." Luhan said.

"But what if he still doesn't remember me?" Chen asked.

"You can help him. Or create new memories with him." Luhan said.

"But what if his father rejects me again?" Chen asked.

"Don't think so negatively. I'm sure you will get your happy endings." Luhan said just before the bell rang.

"We should go to class. I'll see you at work today."

Chen nodded and they went to class.

"How's life." Sehun asked as he stared at Luhan doing his dishes, leaning against the counter and not caring about the manager's stare.

"Chen shared with me his story." Luhan said. Chen had went to the nearby market to buy ingredients.

"What story?" Sehun asked.

"Chen also have his lost love. Like us, he was being separated." Luhan said.

"Who is he with?" Sehun asked.

"You wouldn't believe it." Luhan looked at him.

"Try me." Sehun nods.

"It's Xiumin."

Sehun gasped. "Xiumin...hyung? But Chen just entered school and Xiumin dropped out and came back this year. How did they met?"

"Chen said they met in Xiumin's father's cafe when they were in middle school." Luhan said.

"How cool. They met over coffee." Sehun said, amused.

"But Xiumin's father didn't agree to their relationship." Luhan continued. "And all of a sudden when Chen visited him again the next day, Xiumin refused him. And he ran away, Chen chased him. But Xiumin got knocked down by a car and he got a serious injury in his brain that caused his memory loss. Chen hadn't seen him since. Until now."

"That's really sad." Sehun folded his arms.

"I'm still trying to find out more. I'm helping Chen find his lost love back." Luhan said.

"Sounds like a plan." Sehun smirked.

"Ah-hem." The manager coughed from behind.

Luhan took the message and went back to washing. Sehun is laughing internally, watching Luhan.

"Are you just going to stand here and stare at him all day?" The manager asked him.

"Yeah. Don't you know my father told me Luhan is supposed to take care of me. And come back with me." Sehun smiled.

"Manager knows?" Luhan asked.

"He knows about us. He's my father's good friend and he knows pretty much everything." Sehun said.

"That's right. And I knew from the start the both of you have some connection." The manager smiled.

It's the second time Luhan sees him this way, the first one when the manager saw the bunch of children happily eating their pizza in the restaurant 2 days ago. He made a conclusion that he loves children.

"I knew you two look at each other often. Even from the first day." The manager continued.

Sehun smiled at Luhan, who was smiling too, and started playing his game.
