Faint Whispers

Chapter 4

"What is this?" Chanyeol said, looking around and feeling into the darkness.

"No idea." Sehun shook his head slowly.

Suddenly, there was someone standing opposite them and a flashlight flashing on his own face, making himself look like a ghost.

"WHAT THE HELL!" Chanyeol screamed in fright.

Kai hugged Kyungsoo tightly in fright while Sehun just looked at them as if they're lunatics.

"Suho. What is this?" Sehun asked, nearing the elder.

The lights turned on then Suho started laughing. Kyungsoo pushed Kai away from him, keeping a face of disgust, and Chanyeol managed to calm himself down.

"I just thought it would be nice to scare you guys before the party starts. You're 10 minutes early." Suho said.

"It isn't nice hyung!" Kai frowned.

"You should see yourself, hugging Kyungsoo like that." Suho smiled.

"What?!" Kai glared at him.

"Calm down Kai. Now, what is this party about Suho?" Sehun asked.

"This party is for you Sehun." Suho said.

"For me?" Sehun asked suspiciously.

"Yeah, you know that time I didn't come to your birthday party last year. It's a makeup." Suho explained.

"But it can't possibly be a birthday party just for me alone." Sehun said, crossing his arms.

"You're quite smart though, Sehun. Yes, this isn't a party for you." Suho laughed. Sehun felt disheartened but didn't show it.

"What is it for?" Chanyeol asked.

"It's for the freshmen to know who's boss in the school." Suho looked around the basement. It was decorated nicely and a huge stage behind him. There are sofas, chairs, tables and of course, drinks.

"You made Mr Kim invite every single one of the students to attend your stupid 'show freshmen who is the boss in this school' party?" Kai asked.

"Yes. That's right." Suho nods.

"Ridiculous." Sehun rolled his eyes.

"Now would you please help me set up all this before everyone else come?" Suho asked.

"Sure. We will help." Sehun said and pulled his friends along.

Luhan stood waiting for Kris as Kris went in one of the famous ice cream shop. Luhan looked around, Suho's neighborhood looks so rich. Almost all the shops here are expensive, which meant the two cones of ice cream too. He hadn't buy or tried anything around here, nor did he even come here before. It's a once in a lifetime thing. Luhan smiled at Kris when he saw him exiting the air-conditioned store.

"Here it is. Your favourite mint chocolate flavour!" Kris said and handed Luhan his.

"Thank you Kris! This must cost a lot." Luhan said.

"It's fine. Since coming here is rare, we should spent some extra money to taste the richness." Kris said.

"It is rich! This ice cream is fabulous!" Luhan exclaimed.

"Not as fabulous as me." Kris joked.

"Cut it out." Luhan hit him playfully.

"Let's go to Suho's party after this ice cream, alright?" Kris asked.

"Okay." Luhan nodded.

"Let's walk around as we finish, it'll be great to see how Suho's neighborhood is." Kris suggested.

"Good idea!" Luhan showed a thumbs up and grinned.

In the evening, people started filling up Suho's basement, much to his father's surprise.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Suho's father asked his son.

"Yes it is, appa. It's the best chance to finally announce our relationship. And, get the two students together." Suho smirked.

"You sure?"

"I'm really sure. Trust me in this." Suho gave one final look at his beloved boyfriend behind him and smiled.

The party started. Music blasting, drinks pouring, people dancing and people started getting drunk already. It's what a party look like. Suho was pleased but he won't be 100% when he can't find the person he's looking for.

"What is it, Suho?"

Suho turned back so see his boyfriend.

"I was looking for you, Lay. You look dashing." He smiled.

"Really?" Lay looked at his shirt.

"Yes. But you look beautiful in any ways too." Suho smiled.

"You're so sweet, Suho." Lay hugged him tightly.

"OH MY GOD!" Chanyeol screamed and Kai covered his mouth.

"Look at them hugging!" Chanyeol whispered to him.

"I told you. Those rumors are true." Kai said and nods when Lay and Suho broke the hug but their smiles remained.

"That's too public. I think they're revealing it later." Chanyeol added. "Right?"

"Who knows maybe they're brothers." Kai joked.

"How 'bout you Sehun?" Chanyeol asked.

Sehun was busy staring at two particular people, one he knew very well and the other that he don't understand.

Luhan and Kris entered the basement slowly. Seeing that there are already people and music, they realized that they're late.

"Looks like a huge party." Kris said.

"Yeah. And I don't know whether I can fit in this." Luhan said nervously.

"Just have some fun. Dance along with me." Kris said.

"No, I think I'll just sit over there." Luhan pointed to a sofa which has another guy there.

"Alright, I'll find you there then. Be safe." Kris said and left.

Luhan went on and reached the sofa. He sat there awkwardly and glanced at the guy beside him. Luhan hadn't seen him before for the past years in school so he must be a freshmen. The guy was reading a book, rather than enjoying the party like everyone else. Luhan cleared his throat, hoping the guy would notice. The guy looked up at him in confusion. Luhan tried to be friendly and smiled, a little too wide (A/N: Imagine Chanyeol's creepy smile). The freshmen squeaked in fright and walked away quickly. Luhan scolded himself for being too friendly.

"Stupid! Why did I do that?" Luhan mumbled to himself.

"Hello!" A cheerful voice said.
