Coherent Sentences

Di ko po alam kung anong book yung gamit namin eh, so just bear with me :)

Julie came from a town named Batungbakal. Julie is bright, honest, and loving. Being a scholar she loves to read and to write poems.

Until one day , she received a letter from a certain school in Manila. The letter said that she got the scholarship in the school of poetry. Her family, excited and happy, packed her things up.

After a couple of months being far from home, she said, "I want to go back home."  But she realized that salaries in Manila is more high than salaries in Batungbakal. So , she strived hard to finished her studies.

After four years, Julie,happy and contented graduated with flying colors. Having finished her studies and having a honor, she immediately found a job. Now, she is a well-knowned poet

I don't know the title of the book that our professor used. So, i'll just put 'book' for the credits . For the information and meaning given :)

Coherence in the Sentences used :

"Julie is bright, honest, and loving."

-  Sentence Elements named in series must be parallel. (Book)

Parallelism is the fact of being similar in development of form (Webster's Dictionary)

Parallelism is expressing in similar forms elements having the same logical functions in the sentence. (Book)

"Being a scholar she loves to read and to write poems."

- Parallel Sentence elements must be expressed in the same grammatical form. (Book)

"The letter said that she got the scholarship in the school of poetry."

- Direct Discourse expressed as a statement is introduced by the pronoun that in indirect discourse. (Book)

"But she realized that salaries in Manila is more high than salaries in Batungbakal."

- Comparison can be made only with things of similar nature. (Book)
