(Gender-neutral reader. I can't determine where this takes place, but it's in the spooky month universe.)

(Story type is simple.)

(Characters for this story are Skid, Pump, Sarvente, Ruvyzvat, and Lila.)

(This is platonic.)

(Sorry if my writing seems dry.)

(Image is made by me on Picsart. Feel free to use it if you want, I guess.)

(Also, story titles now will be different from the old ones, as well as there being actually original pictures, word count being removed at the end of stories, and either shorter or longer stories. Though, stories may take longer to post due to some issues.)

(There is no warning.)

Third-Person POV:

'Why did I do this again?' The child thought, shivering as they stood in the snow. It started snowing a while ago, yet it was already freezing for Y/N. There were some pairs of people walking past the child. Some stared at Y/N, others were concerned for the child's choice of clothing today, and more simply ignored them.

-

Before a familiar couple could walk past Y/N, the Neapolitan-looking one stopped walking, looking back at the freezing Y/N. The other one stopped as well, confused. The Neapolitan one looked at her hot chocolate, then back at Y/N. After a few seconds, she tapped on Y/N's shoulder, trying to get their attention.

-

Y/N hummed in confusion, turning around and looking up at the woman. She smiled before saying "Here you go.", holding out the warm drink to the child. Y/N stared at it before slowly taking it, giving the woman a closed half-smile. The woman once again smiled before walking away, her friend following along.

-

Y/N stared in silence as the couple walked away from them. Y/N then turned to drink around to read 'Hot Chocolate' on the label. They smiled a bit before slowly moving the drink towards their mouth. Before they can take a sip of the drink, a light voice greets Y/N loudly. They flinch at the loud noise before turning around. There was nothing in front of them.

-

A few seconds later, a hand tugs on Y/N's scarf, causing them to look down. It was the Halloween-themed kids, Skid and Pump. Y/N just stared at the two in silence. '...Maybe I should put bells on them...' Y/N thought, still trying to recover from the small greeting. "Er... hi...?" Y/N replied, trying to think of some words. "What's that you're holding?" Skid pointed at the drink in Y/N's hand, curious.

-

They looked at the hot chocolate in their hand before looking down at Skid. "...Hot chocolate... do you want a drink?" Y/N questioned, holding the drink out to Skid. He smiled widely before quickly taking the drink from Y/N's hand. "W-Wait, I forgot to tell you its-" Before Y/N could even finish their sentence, Skid was already whimpering from the hot temperature of the drink, Pump staring at him in worry.

-

"...Hot..." Y/N finished, staring down at the skeleton-masked child. Pump then looked up at Y/N, wanting them to help his friend. Before Y/N could open their mouth to speak, a familiar woman with purple hair came running down the street, slipping and sliding a bit. "Uh..." That was all Y/N said as they stared at Lila, worried about what she'll say about Skid's current issue with the hot chocolate.

-

"Oh... Hello... Y-Y/N..." Lila greeted them, breathing heavily. "...Are you okay?" Y/N questioned, staring at the woman. "What? Oh, I'm fine, just a little... exhausted." She replied, finally catching her breath from running. "And thanks for finding the Kids, Y/N." Lila said, looking down at the two boys. "Well, a-actually, they found... me..." Lila picked up Skid, wondering why he's covering his mouth.

-

"Oh... what's wrong with Skid?" Lila questioned, worried about her son. Y/N looked to their side, fiddling with their fingers. "Well... he kind of... had a drink of some hot chocolate, not knowing it wasn't cooled off yet, and... yeah..." Y/N replied nervously, looking back at Lila. She only grabbed the drink from Skid's hand, handing it to Y/N. "It's fine, things like this happen often." She gave Y/N a reassuring smile.

-

Y/N sighed as Lila walked away, Pump quickly following her and Skid. 'Maybe I should get going too...' Y/N told themselves mentally, walking in the other direction. 'And maybe get some new clothing. This already feels like agony.' They looked at their hands, noticing the shaky motions. They put their hands in their pocket and kept walking, hoping this holiday would turn out right for them.

(Oh, hey, another story made after some hiatus.)

-

(I'm so sorry for the long wait, along with almost discontinuing this book. As usual, I wasn't feeling very good and didn't feel like continuing this book, along with my other ones, but I think I'm feeling a little better right now.)

-

(And another thing, thank you for reading and happy holidays.)
