The snowstorm slashed through the two men with gale. Their armour quaked at the infirmity of their ardours, Erwin mounted up the snow white rise to clench the branch of a tree. "Levi!" He thundered from the height, Levi bore the fur of a bear as cloak over his large shoulders, triangular tattoos rooted into the centre of his chest and both forearms. Oxblood red, tunic and hazel belt without any top, his chest was unclad. "Do you see it?!" Levi demanded, Erwin had disappeared. Eyebrows furrowed, Levi ascended the mount and came upon one grisly sight. Before him, Erwin lay without an arm. His blood drowned the colourless ground into wine.

It was the Beast. The Beast, they came to find after the slaughter of all their Viking men...

Where was it?

Levi narrowed his azure, irate eyes at the woodland encrusted in white, he felt a monstrous presence from behind. He swung his blade around to cut it, it evaded the strike. Erwin's bluer eyes dilated, the Beast had plunged its nails into his stomach and vanished. Levi supported the head of his friend within his arms, "Erwin..." He muttered in dread, his aureate strands of hair were like sand in the palm of his tough hand. Snowflakes poured down from the skies as Erwin began to raise his left arm to point. "I... am... free." Both of his eyes sealed up before Levi and caused him to wroth. "I will avenge you, Erwin... I do not fear death." Levi was on his feet, his sapphire eyes flickered despite the blizzard.

Where are you, Beast?

A well began to form within the ice storm, strained to heave both men inside, Levi grasped onto the stiff corpse of his friend. The brightness overawed Levi, before him, the physique of a woman, was forged, with armoured plates that covered the torso of her milk dress, decorated at the shoulders with a vermillion cloak and at the head with a cyan Valkyrie helmet. The lengthy, yellow spear in her firm grasp was risen off the grass to be set down once more. The tempest came to an end, Levi could not believe his very eyes, the mythical being was true, a valkyrie is one of a host of female figures who choose those who may die in battle and those who may live. Selecting among half of those who die in battle go to Fólkvangr, Freyja's afterlife, the other half go to the god Odin's hall called Valhalla. There, the deceased warriors become einherjar.

"I don't understand... why have you come for me?" Levi confronted and gripped his blade before the saintly maiden. She kneeled, to hover a hand over Erwin's lifeless frame. "Don't you dare touch him!" Levi heaved his sword above her with both hands to have it fall but the blade shattered into splinters of mirror once it touched the wing attached to her helmet. "Your friend has fought the Fenir, 'Monster of the Van' and died in battle, I have chosen to have him sent to Valhalla... he was a phenomenal commander and has earned to become a einherjar." Her head of marron locks could touch the clouds in the greyish ethers, though she glowed in gold, the weight on her russet eyes hadn't gone unnoticed by the berserker. As she ambled away, Levi recognised his blade in her hand. He flinched at the expansion of width and length his sword had gained in the palm of her hands. "Do you fear the way to the underworld, Levi?" The armoured maiden held the monstrous blade above him, Levi stumbled at the vision. "No..." The sapphires, crazed before the 'Chooser of The Slain' as she released the giant steel and he regarded it fall onto the earth. The flare that outlined her shape began to fail and her copper eyes flickered into flame, she descended down to her knees to touch the bottom of his jaw, Levi was startled by the reduction of her height and the blacken of her sepia eyes. "You look for death... before retribution... I have chosen your place in the afterlife." The corners of her mouth went upward as she peered at him, sombrely, the niveous gust rendered the intensity of her features. Levi slapped her hand away to rise up with his converted sword, the blizzard masked his cape of fur with frost. "Chooser of the Slain... I do not fear death... I do not fear you." Levi pointed the sword at the Valkyrie before him, his azure eyes were wrathful. She raised both arms to surrender, Levi frowned as she neared, the end of the sword impaled the Valkyrie's chest, her form began to tremor like water and solidified into spears of ice that barrelled toward the stupefied man, he collapsed to evade the attack. The snowfield was void without the Valkyrie, Levi felt menace from above, his sword locked with her steel spear and the clash of metal hollered into the gale, his sword aroused an unusual supernatural power that pulsated through his anatomy. The colossal steel felt almost weightless in his hand when he thrusted her off. Her spear liquefied into water and drizzled onto her winged helmet and her feet bolted into the icy ground. She beamed along with her black coffee eyes at a distance from the man enthralled by his miraculous sword. Lightning discoloured the skies to lilac and the Valkyrie, cackled, "The God Thor is humoured by your height, Levi... he has gifted you with a masterpiece forged by the dwarves, a sword made from URU metal." Lightning pierced the skies once more, her laughter bonded with the thunder. Levi threw daggers at the Valkyrie and kicked deathly stares into the ethers. "No need to be so offended... I go by the name, Hanji... It is very nice to meet you, Levi, The Strongest." She extended out her hand for him to shake, he rejected her hand and trudged up the mountain. Hanji endured his stiff nature with a smile and accompanied him. "The Beast... do you know the direction it took of in?" Hanji surveyed his scowl for a hint of foolishness, both of her hands enclasped behind her back. As, she predicted, he was empty-headed and so was his slow response, "No." He ceased in his wander, the corners of her lips were uplifted by his candid reply. "I know." Her copper eyes, weakened. "What if I live?" Levi questioned the Valkyrie, with mysterious eyes, Hanji mirrored his reaction, "Your friend... is expecting you. Do you not want to see him?" Hanji outstretched her arm to present to him the phantom figure of Erwin. "Erwin?" Levi breathed, he reached for the man but his hand pierced through Erwin's frame of mist, Erwin vanished like smoke. Fury infected Levi and he grappled at Hanji's wine cape, her helmet, quaked. "Tell me... where that devil is hiding?! Tell me... or I'll-!" Levi unsheathed his blade and kissed her neck with it. His blue eyes had reddened, Hanji kissed his lips. "Kiss of death... to be kissed by a Valkyrie... those who deserve a place in Asgard, shall receive it." Hanji, led the way through the snowstorm, Levi followed.
