Hanji walked unsteadily out of Erwin's room. They had recaptured Wall Maria, lost many comrades, lost Erwin. She looked out of the shattered window that permitted light through, her left eye would gradually lose its vision, she predicted, as the black spots in her left eye's field of vision had become larger.
"Hah... Erwin... So, this is the weight of the burden you've been carrying all this time? It's only been a few hours at that..." Hanji studied her calloused palm, warm tears plunged into it.

"We should prepare for the journey back..." Hanji exhaled, ambling her way across the top of Wall Maria. She decided to bind the discovered three books in a cloth, then hid the three treasures under her uniform, in case of another attack from the enemy.
Levi was mourning to the point where his responses had lessened to a few words and sounds. His every action appeared subconscious, his mind was elsewhere.
He lost his only friend, someone he was most devoted to; her mind recalled that one moment she had outreached towards Moblit, before he...
"Oi." Levi uttered, the murk in his eyes had altered its blue hue."Hm?" Hanji encountered his absent stare likewise, neither doubted the other for it. "We should leave his body, here." Levi studied the ramshackle house, where Erwin's corpse remained.
Levi carried on with readying the carts and horses for the journey. Hanji stared at the house, where Erwin's corpse perished in. She exhaled, hauling up the box of rations for the ride.
Walking atop Wall Maria, to transfer the box to one of the carts. She collided with someone onto her left, "O-Ow!" Hanji waved her boot to ward off the pain in her feet.
She spiralled to her left, it was Levi. Her vision in her left eye had turned pitch black. "Oi." Levi lifted a brow at her clumsiness, she expected to be chastised by him like always.
"Are you alright, Hanji?" His tone was merciful and tender to her wonder, but then again the things they'd seen, it was enough to change a person.
"My left eye... I can't see anything through it... I'm afraid you'll have to walk on my right side, from now on, Levi..." Hanji breathed out, and felt pitiful.
"I.. see..." Levi's eyes widened at the dire progression of her injury. He proceeded to trudge on her left side, "Levi?" She clung onto his arm, "I'll bump into you, again." She sheepishly, scratched her head.
"I know... as Captain I should safeguard your left side... in case of any more attacks." Levi responded, remotely. Hanji's copper eyes widened at his musing answer.
"But..." Hanji murmured, as he ambled on. "I won't be able to see you." Hanji admitted, ill at ease. Levi came to a halt, he was at a loss for words.
He spun around to meet her; "Shitty Four-Eyes... you've always been the one to rush into things without any precautions, remember... leaving us to deal with the thereafter... That's why..." Levi contemplated the ramshackle house, again.
"I'll always be... there." Levi assured, his sapphire eyes caught the light of the sun, she reddened at that.
"Is that... right?" She murmured, glancing away from him.
