Potions had to be Thea's favorite class, by far

Potions had to be Thea's favorite class, by far. She often wondered if it was because she had always been so adept at cooking. Following recipes for food and potions weren't much different. Lily was also amazing at Potions. Unfortunately for Marlene, she was the odd one out. One of the girls always sat with her, usually Thea seeing as Lily was friends with Snape, but after last year's fallout, the redhead had offered to sit with the blonde.

"I'll sit with Marlene and you can sit with Remus!" Lily grinned.

"Why would he sit with me? His friends are in this class."

Marlene rolled her eyes. "Darling, Peter dropped it the second he could. He's all yours for the taking."

Thea bit her lip. Should she sit with him? Wouldn't it be too weird? Too obvious? Lily and Marlene gave her no choice as the two walked into the room and sat at the same table. Thea walked apprehensively after them, noticing how James and Sirius sat down together and Remus sat behind them. Alone and brooding.

It looked as though the two boys had the same idea. Sit together and force Remus to sit with Thea. It was perfect! Remus did, however, notice their meddling and was clenching his jaw in anger. They promised not to push it. Yet here they were. Meddling.

Thea sighed and placed her things lightly on the tabletop. Remus said nothing as she sat down. Thea looked at him, but he refused to look back. He wasn't going to give in to whatever his friends had planned.

Professor Slughorn started the class a few moments later. The students, along with their desk partners, had to brew a Draught of Living Death. It was one of the most difficult potions they had ever attempted. Safe to say, Thea was nervous.

The brunette ran her sweaty palms over her skirt in an effort to dry them, but the fact that she was about to brew her hardest potion to date and with Remus Lupin beside her was not helping.

"I'll go get the ingredients then?" She asked the boy beside her. He nodded once without sparing a glance toward her and started to heat the cauldron. "Right."

Thea walked away with furrowed brows and a million thoughts running through her head. She began gathering the different things in her arms, cursing when realizing the last one she needed was on a shelf too high for her to reach. She didn't notice him standing behind her until she saw his arm reach up and grab what she needed.

The green on his robe stuck out like a sore thumb and his blonde hair didn't help either. Evan Rosier stood before Thea with a smirk as he extended the last of her ingredients. Thea tentatively reached out and grabbed the jar, pulling it back towards her.

"Thank you, Rosier," She said, her face revealing just how much she did not expect this to happen.

"So we're back to Rosier now?" Evan tilted his head, the smirk still plastered on his face. Thea's breath hitched. "What happened to being friends?"
