Lily was worried about Thea. She was jumpy, paranoid, and overall almost overbearingly overprotective. It was unusual. For starters, she wouldn't leave the redhead out of her sight. If Lily had to go to the toilets, Thea was right outside just waiting for her to finish. At first, she figured Thea just wanted to spend time with her, but it was now just overwhelming.
Marlene had taken notice of her odd change of behavior as well. It was something she and Lily discussed in the brief moments they had without Thea by their side. James and Sirius had pulled her away for something and Marlene took the opportunity to ask if something was wrong. It was safe to say they were both extremely worried.
"Do you think it has to do with Rosier?" Marlene asked Lily.
Lily nodded, sure of her answer. "I know it does. She's been acting weird ever since he dragged her away on Monday afternoon."
The blonde looked over to James and Sirius, who still were talking to Thea. "Should we tell them? I mean, what if he threatened her?"
"What could they possibly do?" Lily tried to reason. "We don't know for sure what went on and I don't want them to go off looking for trouble with the Slytherins."
Marlene sighed. "That makes sense. But then again, if he did threaten her, we could use their help. I don't want to be outnumbered if it came to be."
"I'll speak with Remus, I'm sure he'll know what to do." So she did. Lily pulled Remus away during dinner for a few minutes while Marlene distracted Thea.
"You think Rosier threatened her?" Remus asked. Lily nodded. "When did this happen again?"
"Monday afternoon." She responded. "We were outside when he approached us and asked to speak with her alone. She's been off ever since."
Remus struggled to hold back a growl. This was the last thing he needed at the moment. The full moon was due in a few days and he was already feeling its effects. Heightened anger and impulse control being some of them. "I'll keep an eye on things. Don't worry."
Lily let out a relieved sigh. "Thank you, Remus, I usually wouldn't want to bother any-"
"It's no bother. I don't want anything to happen to any of you." He cut her off. "I'll tell the boys tonight.
The redhead grimaced. "Please make sure they don't overreact. I'm still not one hundred percent sure that he did actually threaten her." Remus nodded. "Thanks again!"
The two walked back into the Great Hall side by side, taking their seats beside their respective friends. James furrowed his brows. "What was that about?"
"I'll tell you all later." Was all Remus offered.
Remus kept his eyes on the Slytherin table for the rest of the evening, Evan specifically. The blond looked bored at whatever Avery was spewing out of his mouth. It seems as though he felt eyes on him. In a split second, his gaze clashed with the werewolf's. Remus's lip curled in distaste making Evan smirk to himself, drinking out of his goblet to hide it. No one noticed the interaction.
