10mins to break my heart

"what's wron-" dream was about to ask george what happened, but was interrupted by his phone ringing.

"hang on," he told george.

he grabbed his phone and answered it. george couldn't see the contact name, but heard a feminine voice coming from the phone.

"yes i know but-" he looked at george, but quickly broke eye contact, "okay babe. i'll go right now." dream said, hanging up.

babe?

george heart dropped.

babe? did dream have a girlfriend? of course he did, why else would he say that? is that why he's been ignoring him?

dream sighed, "sorry, what happened though-"

george immediately stood up, "um- nothing. it was n-nothing. sorry, um i have to go back to class."

his face felt hot.

"wait! george, come on," dream grabbed george's hand, but george flinched and grabbed his own hand with his other.

he basically ran away from the bathroom, leaving dream behind.

he felt embarrassed and stupid. of course dream would get a girlfriend. he didn't mean to waste his time. he wanted to know why dream had been ignoring him and finally found out why.

he didn't know where to go, so he just went to the nurse's office.

luckily, his favorite nurse was there, mrs. lynn.

mrs. lynn was one of george's mother's friend. she was also the only school nurse that was actually nice and understanding, unlike the other 2 nurses who would just let you lie down for 5 minutes and give you an ice pack and make you go back to class.

george always went to her whenever he felt sick, or didn't want to be around so many people.

he finally reached the office and was happy to see that no one else was in the room other than mrs. lynn.

"oh hello george! wait- what's wrong, sweetie? are you okay?" mrs. lynn looked worried. george's mother told her to keep an eye on him while he was school, and has basically seen george grow up so you could say she thought of him like a son.

george just looked at her and felt the tears starting all over again.

mrs. lynn tried to calm him down and let him lay down on a bed.

"would you like me to call your mother?" she asked.

goerge just nodded. he sat up and hugged his legs.

mrs. lynn called his mother and she came to the school in less then 10 minutes.

the car ride home was silent other than george's quiet sniffles.

although mrs. davidson wanted to know what happened, she knew that it was the right time to ask.

they got home and george immediately went upstairs to his room.

"did you eat? just let me know if you want me to make you something, okay?" she said.

george just nodded, closed his door, and collapsed on his bed.
