The following day Vanessa and Jason were up the stairway by Topanga's while everyone else was inside.
The best friend duo had no idea what to do about the envelopes the previous night, much less what to tell their friends, so they decided to take it head on in the morning thinking a good night's sleep would help.
Of course that didn't help.
Vanessa and Jason haven't even opened the envelopes so they weren't even sure if they were to say they would have good news and to them that meant not even having to bring up the conversation to their friends.
They both knew there would be something that may potentially have the friend group move in different places but they never figured it'd be that early in life.
"What are we gonna do about this?" Jason asked his best friend in a whisper as they sat on the steps hoping their friends won't hear them.
"I'm not sure Jay. I didn't think we'd have to think about this, at least not for years." Vanessa sighed, running her hands through her hair trying to figure out what to do.
"I'm going to be honest, I didn't think we'd hear back from them." Jason admitted glancing over to his best friend's bag where she kept the envelopes not even trying to hide his surprise.
"Same here. And if we heard anything back I thought it'd be much smaller envelopes." Vanessa agreed not even thinking they would get a good response back.
"Well what are we gonna do?" Jason leaned in wondering what their next step would be and considering he didn't know he hoped his best friend would know.
"We have to tell the others." Vanessa shook her head as she messed with one of her hair strands but she noticed Jason's expression. "Remember what happened last time we tried to hide something about another school from them? We didn't exactly hide it well."
"That's true but we don't even know what direction we want to take this to." Jason knew exactly what she meant but he also knew neither of them knew what to do next.
"Maybe they'll help us know." Vanessa shrugged her shoulders trying to think positive in the term of telling their friends.
"That or they'll confuse us more because of a big overreaction." Jason pointed towards her but weighed in his one opinion which had them sharing a look with each other knowing them well.
"Let's say it quick enough that they don't have a chance to freak out." Vanessa thought about it for a moment but she just had to fall back to the quickest plan.
With no other option the two shared a sigh before standing up making their way down to the cafe knowing their friends were there.
This was one of the most challenging things they would have to consider especially when it may affect everything in their lives.
