CARL POV

I felt a body shift next to me. I open my eyes to see her looking at my hat and smiling. She looks ready to cry. I quickly close me eyes. I peek to see her hug the hat and put it on her head. She then looks to me.

And sighs.

"Carl...i know your awake." She says. I dont move and just keep my eyes closed.

"Alright. Well of your asleep the you wont mind if i go climb the tallest tree i can find?" She said getting of the bed.

Um. No.

"Alright you got me." She smirks. And gives me my hat. I gladly take it and we both go outside. She runs to hershel first.

"Hey pop. Whats up?" She says hugging him. My dad laughs.

"Nuthin darlin...ya know you look like maggie when she was young. Cept' you have beths eyes and spirit and personality." He says smiling widly.

"Im happy to be. There cool! And uh pop? Wheres my dad?" She asks. He chuckles and points towards her tent. She noddes and uses her hand to motion him down. He bends down and she pecks his cheek and runs off.

He smiles happily.

"Feels like my own grabdaughter." He said smiling and talking back with my dad. I decided i was still sleepy and took a nap.

PENNY POV

"Daddy?" She started well looking to him.

"What...was...never mind." I said. I dont want him to be sad or mad at me...

He is about to say something when carol yells.

"DINNER!" I smily widely.

She is like a mom.

I run to her and hug her. Im the only kid she would let gey close since sophia walked out the barn. She hugged back happily.

"Come on." She says grabbing my hand and brinign me to the table.

"Carol...can i sing at dinner tonight? Ive been practicing.." i ask. Sje nods sweetly. I smile.

TIME SKIP

We all finished.

"Eveyone...penny wanted to sing for us..she has been practicing." Carol said.

"Well sweety when your ready." Pop...hershel said to me.

I breathed in and out. Carl watched me closely along with my dad.
