The thief
The thief spent the next three days pulling together favours.
The old lady who owed her money from a job was able to hook her up with the best jeweller in the city. The owner of the general store, which was really a front for the best black market in the world, was able to fake all the materials they needed. The tailor prepared all clothing needed at a discount. The last person the thief spoke to was the Guildmaster. He told her he would be ready.
Once the thief had everything she needed, she went to her apartment in the middle class district.
The winter solstice was in two days, and she needed to tell her fellow thieves the plan. She had never had a job like this one. The stakes were the highest they'd been, the consequences if they failed higher yet. Everything needed to be perfect.
So, she told them. They all met at her apartment on Wednesday night, and they went over the plan again, and again and again. There would be no room for error. They were to get in, and get out without so much as a batted eye. They had the clothes, they had the invites, they had the fake ring, and they had a way in and an escape.
On Thursday, the eve of the winter solstice, the Thief returned to the tunnels that ran beneath the city in a winding maze. She followed one, leading to the centre of the City, and directly underneath the palace, with a pipe that led into the kitchens.
Their way in.
Magic
Magic was as chaotic as ever. His time on the mortal plane was exciting, thrilling, and more than he could have wished for.
The Gods would disagree
Magic was currently dangerous. His use of divination, the elements and enchanting were grating on him slowly, and without a filter on his power, it wasn't long before the entire City would fall in fiery ruins.
Magic needed the ring back, and soon.
