Chapter 5. New Friend

I look outside from my window, and there was a flood of media. How am I suppose to go to hospital now, first let's call mom she must be worried?

*Ring... Ring...*

'Hello'

"Hello mom"

'Iris, how are you and what is all this? Are you okay? is it true?" She sounded worried.

"Mom mom clam down, I'm okay, and this is not true, it's a misunderstanding" I reassure her

'Darling, it doesn't seem like a misunderstanding,' she commented .

"Mom, I told you it's just a misunderstanding." I heard someone calling her from behind.

' Honey I'm coming, Iris I am happy that you are okay and it's only a misunderstanding... take care of yourself and you know you can come home whenever you want Tia will also love the company ' she said, her voice no longer waver now, guess she believed that I'll be okay wherever I will be.

" Okay mom, go Tia is waiting. Tell her I miss her. "

'Find time to come home.'

" I will, bye. "

' Bye, love you.'

I hung up the phone. I didn't realise but tears were falling down my face. I guess I am still not used to it. She used to call me honey, now it's my name it's feel like I am no longer her baby girl I don't like that she starts a new family she have a little girl Tia she always talk about her, I don't like it, it suffocating. It was her, who wanted divorce.

Before divorce the three of us was jovial. Dad use take me to the park and we ride bicycle there till it's dark. When we reach home mom used to stand at the door waiting for us and scold dad that he is spoiling me. I miss those days, I didn't understand the reason of their divorce, they were so in love with each other and suddenly one day they realise that they are not meant to be, that they love someone else. Sometimes I wonder did they ever think of me, did I even matter to them. I heard my phone ringing. It's dad.

'Hello, Babybear '

"Hi dad, how are you?"

'I'm fine kid, are you okay?' He sounds worried.

"I'm fine too." there was silence for a few minutes and then he said.

' I can come for few days if you like '

"It's okay dad, I... You will get bored here. I mostly at the hospital so you will be all alone."

' It's fine with me, I will bring lunch and dinner for you when you will be working and we all eat together.' it feels like he already made a plan.

"All ? " I asked, confused.

' Yes all , Brian and Jessica, they won't let eat alone, especially when I am the chief. ' he said jokingly, I no longer feel sad, I chuckled and said

"Yes you are right, I remember in our internship days thanks to you that we eat, if you weren't there we would have died without eating" in our internship dad stayed with us making sure we eat and bath he saved us so many time from getting late he truly is a superhero. He laughed, remembering that time.

' So I can come again.'

"Dad, I know, but Jason is in senior year he will need you there and I am all grown up now." Dad and his second wife they adopted Jason after getting married but dad always makes sure that I don't feel alone, all that matters now that he is happy, mom is happy, and I am...
