Tetra rubbed the sleep from her eyes as the sunrise filled the room. The walk hadn't done much good to clear her head and the thought of Lo was still fresh in her mind.
The group picture of the four of them stared at her from her nightstand. Lo was the only person looking at the camera that day, which is why she kept the picture so close. It was almost as though his gaze was directed at her while she slept. It was warming.
Suddenly, a loud, garbled static noise came from the living room. Tetra nearly jumped out of her bed.
"What is that?" Tetra asked aloud. The static seemed to be clearing, but she got up and walked into the living room to see what the source of the noise was.
It appeared to be coming from the TV, which was flashing on and off. Tetra grabbed the remote from the counter and attempted to turn it off, but it wouldn't listen.
The flashing turned into a static-filled image. It was hard to make out, but after squinting for a few seconds, Tetra was able to make out a reporter at the center of the screen.
"H---" the reporter began. It was still distorted. Tetra sat down, wondering what it was about.
"Hello, Clo-d Nine! We're not used to doing these surprise emerg-ncy broadcasts....but we would like to advise that all citizens watch out for this...thing."
The screen switched to another live feed. It was still grainy, but Tetra could make it out a little. It looked like a demon, but in ripped jeans and a crop top. The demon appeared to be running from something. Or to somewhere.
"Is that..." Tetra squinted a bit harder.
It was Evyn. Tetra was sure of it. Granted, she was much larger and looked like a demon, but Tetra could recognize that fashion choice anywhere. What was she doing out there though?
Tetra's phone began to ring. She picked it up and Ava's worried voice came through the speaker.
"I-I'm not sure what happened," Ava squeaked. "But Evyn got all demon-y and just left the house. I'm not sure what we're even supposed to do."
Tetra looked back at the TV. Evyn appeared to start tearing apart some kind of gift shop.
"I'm not even sure she's in control anymore..." Ava said. Tetra thought she could hear light crying on the other end of the phone.
"Hey look," Tetra said calmly. "We can solve this. We'll just have to...find a demon expert or something."
"Who in Heaven is an expert on demons?"
Tetra paused. "I don't know. But there's gotta be someone."
