The bustling streets of the city enveloped her senses and attacked her from all angles. Artificial lighting from the various littered shops skewered her vision, producing the dull formation of a pounding headache. Shouts and yells could be distinguished from the crowd's indistinctive chatter, market sellers tempting the naïve for their cheap quality produce as well as the screeches of children not being able to get the latest space ship toy. A waft of scents came forth from the stalls, ranging from the sweetness of the flora or perhaps the uncanny rust from metal scraps, the odd combination intertwining together foregoing a putrid smell caused the young senator to scrunch her nose in disgust under her black hood.

Individuals ranging from age to species crammed their way through the narrow dirt pathways of the lower levels of Corucsant. A place known as the 'slums of the city', with unbelievably high rates of crime and poverty, as well as many drug lords circulating around the unpleasant area, it was no shock the Senate completely disregarded their interest in offering any means of improvement or development for the agriculturally backwards part of town, as one may say the area was a 'lost cause and a waste of money to try and offer aid'.

Padme clutched onto her long silk cloak tighter, blending into the formulating shadows cast by the now half sun within the horizon. City lights were about to turn on, flooding the area with potent light illuminating the darkness of the city.

In all honestly if anyone had found out she was roaming around in the lower levels of Coruscant at the midst of night fall, she was certain she would receive an earful, especially from Anakin. It was considered dangerous for a significantly high ranked member of the senate to be exposed within the lower levels, especially being a woman alone was even more risky. But Padme was confident in her ability, not only had she received self-defense classes back when she Queen, her experiences with Anakin and improved her fighting skills as well as being able to shoot with a gun, which she happened to be carrying in her breast pocket.

Padme huffed as she picked up the pace and stuck to the side, determined to reach her destination soon and get home to her apartment complex sooner as to waver off any suspicion from her handmaidens.

She had talked to her mother recently, discussing an upcoming bill that would be proposed later in the senate that was of high importance, and consequently she has been suffering from a lack of much needed rest. Her mother had recommended a particular tea blend insinuating the body of soothing serotonin and other remedial benefits, however she had lacked a certain ingredient which could not be found in the regular flower shops residing in the upper levels.

A pearlescent periwinkle was needed, though its origins were held in Naboo, Padme was aware of a particular seller who had many goods from the place of her birth, the only downside being that it was in the lower levels so as much as she would love to frequent it more often, she neither had the luxury of time nor the permission unless she snuck away in the ebbing danger of the night.

There was one particular dingy alleyway she had to cross in order to reach her desired destination, so with quick strides she neared closer and closer to the particular market, hoping to prevent any unwanted attention. Just as she was about to escape the corner, she stumbled into something, more particularly someone.
A large hand grasped onto her waist instinctively, and she tensed shortly, unaware of the hooded figures identity before her.

However, she caught her breath once again as soon as the hooded figure revealed himself to be Anakin himself. Her eyes widened in surprise, though quickly settled into an apologetic manner as soon as she realized she had been caught by the last person she wanted to be found by.

Anakin gazed down at her disapprovingly, and clutched her wrist suddenly, pulling her to an empty corner away from prying eyes and ears.

"Padme what are you doing here?" he demanded

She pulled down her hood to properly see his face. His blonde locks had grown longer, framing the golden tan of his visage, making him look older, more mature. He appeared to be in his jedi attire under his grey cloak, his lightsaber peeking from his waistband whilst his arms remained crossed against his broad muscular chest. She looked up at the cerulean orbs glaring down at her due to the height difference, she felt like a child being scolded by the way his disappointment and concern emancipated upon her.

"Look Ani, I just wanted to get some herbs for a tea blend, but that's irrelevant right now. What are you doing here?" she asked

He bit his lip in resignation and his eyebrows furrowed at her response "You know it's dangerous to be here of all the places by yourself, just for some herbs? And to answer your question I came here to buy some metal scraps as my space jet's engine was faulty. I was gonna come over yours soon after"

"Anakin these herbs are important to me, I can't sleep because of the upcoming bill and without you there in the night to comfort me, it's hard to fall asleep by myself anymore" she admitted, a light blush adorning her cheeks

Anakin's face softened at her confession. Quite frankly he too could not truly sleep well without the her head between his shoulder, or her scent of honey invading his senses whenever he breathes her in. Or when her ankles intertwine with his as he strokes small circles on her back, or when she runs her delicate fingers through his sandy locks, lulling him into an eternal slumber.

He sighed deeply as she once again could never make him stay angry for too long. He pulled her arm and deeply embraced her, laying his chin on her head. He felt Padme's face pressed against his chest, breathing him in deeply.

They stood there for a long while, the moon's pale radiance shining onto the young lovers. The tranquility of the moment was not lost on the two opposites, as they held each other tightly in a world that forbids them to be together.

"I'm sorry" Padme whispered into his chest, the smell of metal and sandalwood invaded her senses, a scent she has become so familiar to, a scent she has come to love.

Anakin just replied by softly kissing her on the forehead and pressed his cheek against her temple, holding his angel eventighter, never letting go.
