Tes was recording a new song in the studio giving it the final touches with Xander, a song that she wasn't sure about. She had discussed it with the boys, Alex and Xander, because she didn't know if it was worth all the repercussions it would have but all that her friends said to her was that if realising it will make her happy then that she had to do it. She hadn't talked to Daniel, yet, but she was also unsure if she had to talk to him. The reason? The simple question was "What the hell were they?" Besides, she wasn't going to bother him about her insecurities while he was occupied and concentrated with the new track in Qatar and the last races of the season.
It became a tradition, after the summer break, that from Friday to Sunday the TV was on the sports channel all day letting them know everything about the race. That way she will be updated on everything that happened on the track, plus she felt it as she was there with him. They facetime at the end of the day even when Tes told him that wasn't necessary because she knew very well that he was tired as hell but he insisted on talking with her because he missed her voice.
She tried not to push on his results or the events of those days if he didn't talk about them but she joked about him finding a honey badger one of those days and his dream, before leaving F1, of walking around the paddock with the animal on a leash, the "Where are the frogs" comment and how she almost lost it with his suggestive respond to the "porn mustache" question. She was looking at him through her phone's screen and he looked so cute, half sleepy and his curls messy from how much he passed his hands through it. If Daniel had been a little more awake he would have grasped the loving look on her face, how she had that small smile on her face and how her eyes shined. With a little wave she told him to go get some sleep, he nodded almost asleep and said goodbye to her. Tes was seconds away from telling him those three little words but Daniel hung up the phone and she held her breath when she realised what she almost did.
