The carriage soon arrived at the castle, it was such a beautiful sight, though it was bigger than the duo had originally imagined, but that didn't matter, they had to make the most of the night.

Jak and Daxter got out of the carriage, Daxter offered to accompany Jak just in case, of course the two couldn't be separated unless they wanted to.

Ratchet and Rivet stood in the ballroom, Ratchet would have to offer the first dance to the most eligible in the room, but he just wasn't sure yet, none of the guests caught his full attention, so Rivet decided to help out, going around and analyzing the guests, until she saw two people walk in, a blonde, tan skinned lady(or atleast they looked like one), and a orange haired male, slightly taller than her. But the lady looked a little familiar, she looked like the man she had met before, maybe this was a sister of his?.

Rivet decided to approach the girl, seeing as the man was approached by another blonde lady wearing a green dress and a red scarf.

-"Hey! You look familiar" Rivet bluntly started, almost startling the other.

-"Oh, well you do too heh" she responded, her voice was also familiar, so she had to ask the ice breaking question.

-"Do you happen to be related to a guy named Jak?" Rivet was almost surprised to see the girl's surprised look, she seemed to be thinking about something before responding.

-"Well....technically I...I am...Jak" Rivet was much more surprised by this statement, but she was happy she got to see her friend again.

-"Oh! Well I just have to say you look very nice tonight!" the lombax princess smiled, Jak observed Rivet's gown, not questioning her robotic arm.

-"I gotta say the same for you" the blond male spoke before feeling Rivet grab his hand.

-"Come on, I gotta introduce you to my brother!" she said as she lead him somewhere.

-"Wait...you dont mean-" why yes, she did mean the one and only, prince Ratchet.

-"Ratchet! I want you to meet my friend!" Rivet introduced, the blond lombax turning around and facing Jak, his green eyes met Jak's blue eyes, making both blush a little bit.

-"Oh- well" Ratchet broke the eye contact and looked at Jak's gown and then back at his face."They look really....pretty" Ratchet started to get a bit shy, why now?. "or- well, how may I refer to you? He? She? They, maybe?" he asked to make sure, making Jak chuckle a bit, the prince sure was cute.

-""He" is alright with me, your majesty" Jak reassured him with a warm smile and a short bow, he couldn't believe he was actually talking to THE Prince Ratchet.

-"I thought maybe you'd want to dance with him yknow?" Rivet interrupted, looking at the two with hopeful eyes, which did seem to convince Ratchet pretty easily, that was pretty usual of him.

-"Well, that seems like a good idea, would you like to dance?" Ratchet said as he looked at the tall male's eyes, their gazes meeting again.

-"Oh- i- I dont know how to dance" Jak let out a soft nervous chuckle, though this wasn't fully true, he did know the basics of dancing, it's just that he's never danced with someone else, but it was going to have to be his first time.

-"Don't worry, I'll help you out, alright?" the blond lombax smiled warmly, giving Jak some warm feeling inside.

-"I'll leave you to it!" Rivet smirked and nudged her brother as she went to tell Duke Quark that Ratchet had found his first dance.

Ratchet guided Jak's hands, one to hold his own and the other to hold the skirt of the dress, later to put his hand on Jak's waist, something about Ratchet's soft hands holding Jak's pretty rough ones felt nice, to Jak it was like holding hands with a fuzzy blanket, he could've wondered how well kept his fur was if it weren't for the music cutting off his thoughts.

Ratchet guided Jak through the steps, looking at his eyes the whole time, Jak in the other hand was looking at Ratchet's movements, trying to guide himself through it too, but once he got the hang of it, he looked right back at Ratchet, making eye contact.

The two swayed together, starting to feel a comfortable warmth grow as they didn't take their gazes off eachother, however, Jak could feel people watching them, especially Praxis, even if he didn't recognize him because of Sly's magic, it still made him a bit nervous.

-"Are you alright? Do you need some fresh air?" Prince Ratchet asked noticing Jak's hesitant hands.

-"Maybe I do" Jak was about to let go, until Ratchet held a tight grip on his hand.

-"Alright, I'll take ya outside" the lombax lead Jak out of the ballroom, making him feel a lot calmer, the lombax was so sweet and kind, who knew only coming here to get away from his step family ended up being much more worth it?.

Ratchet took Jak to a garden in the palace, sitting in one of the benches as he let the other do the same, the two sat in silence, shooting a few glances at eachother, until they both glanced at eachother at the same time, making the both of them blush and chuckle.

-"Your eyes are pretty" Ratchet spoke, trying to start a conversation, Jak chuckled more by that statement.

-"Thanks, I don't really get that often" Jak responded, Ratchet's ears going up.

-"Well you should! Cause- well- they're the most beautiful I've ever seen" the lombax quickly spoke, nervously laughing afterwards, Jak smiled and blushed a little more, looking down at his hands, he started to feel safe with him, safer than he's ever felt.

-"Thanks, you're really cute too" Jak said with a smile, looking back at the other, Ratchet started to turn red and shake his head, looking around the garden as he thought of what more to say.

-"Do you wanna maybe...walk around and maybe uh- talk?" Ratchet shyly asked, Jak nodded before standing up, the blond lombax did the same and took the taller male's hand in his.

The two walked together, maintaining a fairly interesting conversation, but something he realized aside from Jak's blue eyes, was his charm, he loved the way Jak smiled whenever Ratchet began to stutter out of nowhere.
He also noticed he was pretty smart, and he was different from the other people who came to marry the prince, he didn't boldly flirt with him or get too close, he seemed to know where Ratchet's boundaries were before even asking.

-"Um...may I ask you something? Something big?" the lombax asked stopping in his tracks, fidgeting with his fingers, the tall blond male looked at him in confusion, the two of them standing at the center of the garden.

-"Will you..." Ratchet held Jak's hand and got on one knee, at this point Jak would be lying if he said he didn't know where this was going."Will you be my Bridesgroom?" he asked, Jak was kinda puzzled, he understood Ratchet had to find a partner by the end of the ball, but wasn't this too soon?. Even so, this was a great opportunity to get away from his step family, he'd finally be free, as long as he could take Daxter with him of course.

-"I....I would love to, but why me? There's other attractive people in there" Jak asked back, slightly insecure.

-"Sure, they're attractive and all but...none of them caught my attention like you did, just take a look of how you act, how you talk and how you behave" the lombax stood up and held both of Jak's hands as he spoke. "You practically caught me head over heels for you, plus, it won't be an immediate wedding, we'll have some time to get to know each other better" he added, almost bouncing, his words seemed to have convinced the taller male.

-"If that's so....I would love to marry you" Jak said running his hand through the prince's fluffy cheek before leaning in for a kiss.

But before the two could lock lips, they were interrupted by the sound of the clock striking 12, sending Jak into a panic.

-"i-I'm sorry, I have to go"
