Y/n POV:
My peaceful slumber was abruptly shattered by a sharp stinging sensation across my cheek. Wincing, I rubbed my throbbing face and squinted through the dim light to identify the culprit and behold, it was none other than my older brother, delivering unconscious slaps in his sleep. Groaning, I scanned the car's interior, noting that everyone else, except for Mom who was at the wheel, was still lost in the land of dreams. Mom hummed along to a melodious tune in a language foreign to my ears, her eyes twinkling with a sense of happiness. "Why is your face all red, did you nap against the window?" she asked, her voice breaking the silence. I blinked in confusion before replying, "No, I got an unexpected wake-up call from dear old B/N." Mom simply returned her focus to the road, leaving me to nurse my sore cheek in peace. Ah, family love at its finest.
Gazing out the window, I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointing at the desolate landscape stretching endlessly before us. The road seemed to wind on forever, decorated only by the occasional lonely tree. It was a stark reminder of the void left by the fire that had found our home. Lost in thought, I found myself pondering our destination. "Hey Mom, where exactly are we headed?" I finally voiced my curiosity. Mom's smile widened as she glanced back at me through the car mirror. "We're heading to Encanto, sweetheart," she replied with a hint of excitement in her voice. "Encanto? Isn't that where you grew up?" I probed further. "Yes, indeed. It's a beautiful place, filled with kind-hearted people and vibrant colors," Mom enthused, a fond twinkle in her eyes. As her words sank in, I couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation mixed with uncertainty.
"But can we afford to live there?" I ventured cautiously, mindful of our modest financial situation. Mom's reassuring smile melted away any lingering doubts. "Not to worry, my dear. Our dear friends have graciously offered us shelter in their spacious home until we get back on our feet," she assured me, her tone laced with warmth and gratitude. Relief washed over me as I marveled at the kindness of our hosts-to-be. Surely, this new chapter in our lives held the promise of brighter days ahead.
As the sun rose higher in the sky, bathing the world in golden hues, our journey continued. Mom made a pit stop at a quaint clothing store, explaining the need to blend in with the locals' unique fashion sense. With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, she nudged me towards the racks of attire, urging me to find outfits that would suit our new surroundings. Eagerly, I browsed through the stacks of dresses and tops, eventually settling on a delicate white dress adorned with vibrant butterflies, a perfect reflection of my favorite colors. With Mom's encouragement, I also selected a few more practical needs before we resumed our journey.
Time Skip:
As the clock struck 3:00 PM, we finally arrived in Encanto, and I couldn't help but marvel at the sight before me. The town exuded an ethereal charm, with its quaint architecture and lush greenery casting a spell of enchantment. As we blended in the bustling streets, the warmth of the locals' greetings filled me with a sense of belonging. Yet, instead of stopping at the smaller dwellings, Mom guided the car up a winding hill, eliciting giggles of excitement from my younger siblings. And then, as we came to a halt, I beheld our new home-a grand mansion nestled amidst a sea of flowers. It was a sight to behold, a beacon of hope and possibility in our journey to start anew. It was impressive.
