Jotaro's POV
I grew up in a very poor town where my household only ever had maybe twenty dollars max to their name. We had to use this money to survive for a couple months. It was a very tough childhood, so tough I barely remember any of it. The farthest I can remember is going to high school then starting college a few years later. Of course, I saved up my own money from my part time jobs to pay for my tuition because my family obviously couldn't afford it. I majored in marine science and became a marine biologist.
During my internship, I managed to discover a new species of jellyfish, and it was all over the news. Within a few weeks, everyone knew my name and face. Over time, I became overwhelmed with the amount of money that I had. There was so much and I had no use for it. I had everything I wanted already. I'm not a very materialistic person either, I don't want the new, shiny toys like most want. I live in a one-bedroom apartment because there's no point in having a whole house just for myself. I also had a bad falling out with my immediate family, so I wouldn't even try giving them any money. They can figure that situation out themselves.
Besides the money, I also have a cold attitude towards pretty much everyone I encounter. I never had any close friends as far as I can remember. I was an only child, so I don't have any siblings. I think I've been this way my entire life, but I can only remember up to high school. I don't even remember seeing my dad all that much. I don't know why I have a cold attitude, but even when I try smiling and being nice to everyone, they fear me. It doesn't bother me anymore, though. I'm perfectly content being on my own.
___
I need to go grocery shopping. I have a cucumber and crackers left in my kitchen. I grabbed my keys and wallet and headed out to the store. I didn't feel like going out and finding my car in the garage. Plus, I needed some time to clear out my mind, so walking was the transportation for today. Lucky for me, the sidewalks were not busy, and it didn't take very long to get there. It was pretty much in and out at the store, but I had so many bags I didn't know where to put all of them. I kind of regret not taking my car, but at the same time, I really needed to get my head cleared before my thoughts fully consumed my mind.
I was walking with bags stacked on top of my arms so tall I couldn't see a single thing in front of me. Fortunately, my tall frame and buff size is enough for people to clear the way regardless. I was almost back to my apartment when someone rammed right into me. I dropped pretty much everything that I was holding all over the sidewalk. Luckily, nothing I bought was glass. I looked up and saw a woman standing in front of me with tears about to fall.
"I'm so sorry I didn't mean to bump into you. I was so invested in my book I didn't even think to look ahead of me while I was walking. Here let me help you, I'm so sorry again."
I didn't even say anything. I didn't really have a reason to. She was the one who bumped into me in the first place anyway. I bent over and picked up the "heavy" items that I bought so she didn't have to. I mean, it's the least I can do since she caused this. I was already standing for five minutes while I was waiting for her to finish picking the rest of the items up. She was going way too slow for my liking, so I bent over and finished picking everything else up. I then tried to balance everything onto my arms again, but she insisted that she help me. I wasn't going to complain though. This crap is extremely heavy when it's all piled on top of each other. I told her to follow me to avoid any more conversation and she listened, and I started walking back to my apartment.
I'm surprised she didn't know who I was considering just about everyone else knows my face. Maybe she did know me and that's why she was about to burst into tears? Eh, not worth thinking about. I just want to put this stuff away before my arms fall off my shoulders.
