Y/N's POV

It's been about 20 minutes since I've started looking for this safe he was talking about. I can't seem to find it anywhere. I know it's in his room, but I don't know where. I've checked just about every spot that it could be in. The closet, under the bed, under the desk, in the desk. I can't find it anywhere. He does have wood floors though. Maybe it's like those older movies where things are hidden under the loose floorboards.

I lifted up the dolphin carpet that was on the floor and there was the loose floorboard. I never would've guessed he would've done something like this. You would think he wouldn't have anything secret judging by his appearance. Let alone loosening a board to hide this small safe.

I reached down into the floor and grabbed the safe. It was actually much smaller than I thought and pretty light. There must not be anything heavy in it then. I looked at the lock combination and it had letters on it. There were three slots for the combination. I started by just thinking about basic things I know about Jotaro. Anything I thought about was more than three letters long. I then thought about something that might've been the answer. Initials. I tried putting his initials, but it didn't work. Well, at least he isn't self absorbed.

For kicks and giggles, I tried my initials (first, middle, and last initial) and the lock popped open. I didn't know what to do. He couldn't remember who I was, but he used my initials as the combination. Perhaps this was a safe he's had since he was young and that's always been the combination. I decided to not think too hard about it.

I opened up the safe and took a peek inside. I saw a black journal and stacks of money inside. I had assumed the money was for an emergency. I have the same thing in my house. I was more curious about the journal. The front just said the word "journal" in bolded, black letters. It had a sketch of a starfish on the front. It was very detailed, but I expect no less from a marine biologist. I opened to the first page and saw very neat handwriting that was perfectly straight. It was much better than my own. On the note on the counter, there was neat handwriting, but he wrote it quickly judging by the crooked lines and the creases on the paper.

The first page had the date that him and I first talked to each other ten years ago. The most recent was yesterday. Everything inside was written in detail with his own thoughts mixed in. When I read about yesterday, I was filled with excitement and joy. I had no idea that he had felt the same way as me. I wouldn't even be able to say anything to him because he would know that I read this. I feel guilty but it was worth it. I now know how Jotaro feels about me and that makes me feel pretty good.

I flipped to the last page and wrote about my feelings towards him. Whenever he finishes the journal, he'll be able to see it. The journal is quite thin, so it shouldn't take him too long. By then, I should be able to come up with a plan on how I'm going to make a believable excuse. For now, I'm not going to worry too much about it. By the time he even sees it I'll probably "find out" about it.

I put everything back into the safe and put it back into the floor how it was before I got it out. I've finished everything at the perfect time. I could hear Jotaro unlocking the door and I quickly walked out of the bedroom and hopped onto the couch. I was acting like I was grabbing my book out of my bag when he walked in.

"How was work today?"

"It was okay. Nothing too exciting happened. Hopefully soon I'll be able to go back out into the water. The labs are too boring for me."

Hearing him sound enthusiastic about something made me happy. It seems that recently, he's been a little monolithic. I waited for him to get settled and changed out of his work clothes before I started talking to him. I wanted to ask about how I ended up staying here last night. I'm assuming it was because I never woke up from the hour long nap I had, but I wanted to make sure. "Why did I end up staying last night? Did I not wake up from my nap?"

"No you did, but you had a nightmare that made you wake up screaming. I held you, rather attempted to, and brought you into my room. I was going to come sleep out here, but you clung onto my arm and refused to let me leave. So, I ended sleeping in there with you."

He was saying all of this while making himself tea. It seemed like it was a normal situation for him to be in. I'm sure it's just his cool demeanor that he has. Meanwhile, I was over on the side internally dying.

"I'm sorry, I don't even remember that happening. I think I was just so tired that my brain was on autopilot." I let out an awkward chuckle as I fiddled around with my book.

"You're all good. I actually don't mind being like that every night." He turned around from what he was doing to look at me, wink, and smirk before turning back around.

I don't know how long I'm going to last before I actually explode from being too flustered by him all the time.
