As my classes went on I could only think about lunch. I didn't have any classes with Elijah,Candy,April,or Tae. They aren't the brightest bunch but we had fun. Maybe they'd still save me a seat. It would be weird but we can still be friends.
Right? The bell rings and my insides turn. I walk in and we are seperated by a few people ahead of me in line. Seems like they are having more fun without me. I grab my tray and start toward their table.
"Hey,guys." They all stare at me. "Can I help you?" Elijah smirks and laughs. "Look, I know me and you aren't together anymore but I'd still like for us all to be friends." I awkwardly smile hoping they will say yes.
"What do you think this is? Some cheesy Disney movie? When I said I was done with you, I meant it! I spoke for them too. We are done." People start looking over. Some snicker as he starts to get louder. "The fact that you even came over here is hilarious. For you to stay in books as much as you do you sure did make a dumb decision. I knew you would come crawling back to-" Dante cuts him off. "Hey, Farrah. Come on. You can sit with me." Dante puts his hand on my back and glares at them.
April and Candy laugh. Elijah speaks to Tae angrily. "You didn't have to save me. I can fend for myself." I cross my arms and can't even look up. I am super embarrased.
"Didn't look like it." He says while eating a fruit cup."Well, I can. Sometimes, it's best not to say anything." He shakes his head. "Hm." "What?" "Answer me truthfully. If that was me or anyone else at this school would you let them speak to you like Elijah just did?"
"Of course not." I say smartly. "Hm." "Why do you keep saying that?" He shakes his head again and chuckles. "You are a unique person,Miller." "And you are a weird one." I mutter.
"I wasn't when you had those conversations with me the other day." He continues eating and stares at me. He is so chill but yet has none... Weird. "Anyways.. Do you sit here by yourself all the time?" "Yeah." "Why?"
"Why not?" He shrugs. "You don't get lonely or feel odd?" "No. It is not that bad. Really not bad at all. Being by yourself doesn't have to be lonely." "Being by yourself is lonely though." "Not quite. Lonely and being by yourself are two different things."
This kid is.. Something. "How come?" "Just think about it." He smirks and I have to look away so I don't blush. I notice Elijah staring at us hard but Candy snaps him back into reality. Is he jealous?
Maybe it is time for me to move on. He has Candy and well, I could possibly have Dante. He is cute and we'd probably work out. Elijah can see what he is missing out on. They want to talk. Let's make them talk.
It is time to shoot my shot! "You know something?" I say and notice Elijah start looking again. "What?" "You're cute and odd. But cute." Elijah and Tae's face is HILARIOUS! He smiles at me. "You're pretty cute too, Farrah." I blush a bit and look back at them.
All of them stare at me and start whispering. Elijah is outraged and Candy is ticked all the way off. Call me petty but it's time for him and the rest of them to learn a lesson. "You know the fall festival is coming up in a few weeks?" He starts to get all shy. "Yeah." "I was wondering if you were planning to go?" Is he asking me out? Already? "I don't know. I might." "Okay, cool. Wou-"
The bell rings for us to go to our last class. "Um,bye." I wave. "Bye." He awkwardly waves back. I leave lunch feeling all giddy and giggly. This is only temporary. I refuse to fall for this dude!
